US Presidential Election Campaign 2012

She’s blown over $70 million of her own money in two futile attempts to get into the senate

Nate Silver on his NY Times live blog is saying that results from Florida so far are “coming in about exactly as you would expect in a tied race.” He had Obama winning by two-hundredths of a percentage point in his final pre-election forecast!

Democrats looking almost certain to hold the Senate now.

More CNN exit polls:
Colorado 48-48
Minnesota 50-47 Obama
Wisconsin 52-46 Obama

So are the polls likely to be right, or is the ‘too close to call’ narrative correct?

Great to see Elizabeth Warren has won a Senate seat in Massachusetts.

Fox News trying to portray Obama voters as Godless heathens and unmarried sluts who love nothing more than killing babies.

Obama increasing his lead in Cuyahoga County in Ohio and Boulder County in Colorado over what he had in 2008.

Anderson Cooper is working his way through the map of Florida. It’s tied at the moment, but looks like there are more Obama than Romney votes to come.

That’s Ted Kennedy’s seat that Warren is winning.

Fox have called Pennsylvania for Obama. That was pretty easy.

Couple of hundred votes between them in Florida!!! Fucking tight. If Obama gets FL, then it’s an early night for us all.

Was always meant to be.

Signing out. Hope to catch the victory speech before work in the morning.

Obama leading comfortably in Ohio.
Lot tighter in North Carolina that it should be for Romney.
Romney’s margin narrowing in VA as more urban/suburban votes come in. Was ahead by large margin earlier.

Not looking good the Mittster.

Great to see Fox News hate figure and genuine left-winger Alan Grayson romp home in his race for a House seat in Florida.

Looks certain to be a recount there. Can Obama win it without Florida?

Christ yeah. Ohio plus any one biggish or any two of the remaining swing states and he wins. Romney needs a miracle if he loses Florida though.

Hispanics swinging this election for the Dems.
Repubs shooting themselves in the foot with anti-immigration bullshit. They actually had made great inroads with Hispanics during Bush presidency, but have lost all those gains. Dumb fuckers.

“There was hope this that the Republicans’ organisational might might pull off a victory but…” Fox calls Wisconsin for Obama.

Obama doesn’t need Florida.

He can lose FL and VA and still win fairly comfortably with CO, OH, IA, NH.

To turn Karl Rove’s statement around, there’s a permanent Democratic majority emerging in the US due to both demographics and the loonball policies of the Republicans.

Ah lovely, I’m off to bed happy with that news.

Too early to call but looking like Obama, Romney rapidly running out of plans B, S and D, on E at present. Ohio will go for Obama and that will be it, early night for all and blissfully no recounts.
