Venezuela

The US spends $70 billion per year on food stamps, there is no shortage of food, and it is relatively cheap.
There is no food on the shelves in Venezuela.
Stop the difference.

The US caused the current clusterfook in Iraq . Then can also be accused regards Syria. They are a disgrace in Israel /Palestine and their policy regard Saudi Arabia is insane .

Venezuela is not the fault of the USA .

“Another thread you are clueless about”? Great syntax. Arent you the one that used to attempt to criticise “comprehension skills” as your usual retort?

You’re advocating for socialism now?

That was easy.

A healthy capitalist economy can afford to provide necessary economic assistance to those in need, and indeed has a moral obligation to do so. Nothing to do with socialism which involves destroying wealth production.

Where would you prefer to be poor right now, the US or Venezuela?

So you have nothing to contribute to the topic of the thread? Thanks for making my point imbecile.

My point was you are wrong.

If I am wrong about Venezuela, then there must be an alternative right explanation for their economic collapse. Still waiting for you to outline it.

What do you mean by healthy, mate? Regulated I presume?

A regulated form of capitalism is probably the best system to suit human nature - However, capitalism by its very nature means that a few benefit from the hard labour of the many - but more importantly, it requires a lage amount of people to live in near poverty to prop up the few.

Of course it is.

Grand so .

Careful now, that sounds a lot like socialism.

Amazing that you’re now arguing for the exact thing that you’ve been consistently and angrily arguing against.

Where would you prefer to be right now - Sweden or Somalia?

There are a myriad of reasons for the collapse of Venezuela. None of which have anything to do with socialism. All economic systems headed up by unaccountable dictators end up with the poor being screwed by the elite, be they nominally socialist (Venezuela) or capitalist (Chile under Pinochet to use a local comparison). It doesn’t matter what you call it, capitalism or socialism or communism as long as there is a minority elite in control they will always twist the state to their advantage thereby enriching themselves at the expense of the majority.
If it wasn’t for socialists fighting for workers rights not to have to risk their life and limb every day and get a fair days pay we’d all be living in mud wall cabins, unfettered capitalism is as bad as unfettered socialism, if not way worse.

A regulated form of capitalism is the only system we know of to suit human nature. Humans respond to incentive, the fatal flaw in socialism is it removes incentive. Why would anyone bother their hole setting up a business if the government set pricing where you can’t make a profit? Business is the only thing that produces wealth, government consumes it (some of it well spent, much of it squandered).

It’s a tired old cliche that capitalism creates poverty, when the opposite is true. Look at the history of countries that have embraced capitalism since the industrial revolution versus those that haven’t. Capitalism is the very thing that lifts people out of poverty by giving them opportunity, if they have the desire to grasp it.

Capitalism isn’t perfect, but like democracy it’s better than the alternatives. Most of the problems with capitalism stem from government intervention in markets, picking winners and losers, bailing out failing companies, etc.

Wrong.

Are you still drunk?
Nationalizing industries and setting fixed prices for goods and services, regardless of their cost, isn’t socialism?

The US’s unashamed aim since 1999 with regard to Venezuela has been “regime change”, as they so euphemistically call it.

They’ve trained fascist death squads all over Latin America for decades and old habits die hard.

And you don’t get away with wanting to trade oil in euro.

Are you talking about ethanol subsidies in the US?

Venezuela is a democracy mate, Chavez and Maduro were elected.
Turkeys do vote for Christmas.
