Yeah, just look at you.

Ethanol subsidies are an example of the type of dumb government intervention I referred to above.

I’m not arguing for or against capitalism - I’ve stated it’s the one that suits human nature best – But don’t give me this shit of not creating poverty - The whole point of capitalism is to have a large majority to work for peanuts to exact maximum profits … Not everyone can just up and make millions, mate - it’s not called a poverty cycle for nothing - there’s lots of mitigating factors, tied to the capitalist system, that keeps most poor people tied to the situation they were born into…

There’s a happy middle ground between Capitalism & Socialism, neither are the answer to the problem on their own. No society should be content with the accumulation of capital in the hands of the few, nor should those who do nothing be handed everything for free.
The whole capitalist world nearly wiped itself out a few years ago so it’s hardly perfect.

No not everybody does. You are purely thinking about yourself here. Which is fair enough, but humans are more complex than that.

Its not b&w

there’s no middle ground here, its black or white

To quote your good e-buddy @glasagusban… Wrong. Why do people flock to countries like the US and western Europe if not to try and have a better life? There are countless examples of people who have escaped poverty and build great businesses. In the US there is no barrier to entry, any kid who wants to work hard in school will get massive financial aid all the way from elementary college through grad school. If they choose (that’s the key, the choice is with the individual).

you don’t see lads queuing to get into North Korea, Cuba or Venezuala

Stop will you — they flock to the us to work for below minimum wage 16 hrs a day in the hope that their kids will have a better life - But yeah, they all become millionaires in the end.

You do see them queuing to get into Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Germany etc though.

Apart from the ban on Muslims obviously

Of course it’s not black and white, but incentive is the key driver when it comes to human behavior.
Why would anyone pay you to improve their physical condition unless they have some incentive?
Would you bother your arse if the Irish government mandated you can only charge a fiver an hour?
Humans are complex, but human behavior is quite simple and predictable.

The US has a nationalised postal service and a nationalised rail service.

The US government bailed out the automobile industry and it bailed out the banks.

It nationalised airport security and it nationalised coal mines and steel mills and energy companies and even a department store.

What a socialist shit hole.

Fake news.
Of the total number of refugees who entered the US in 2016, half of them were Muslims.

This thick seems to think ‘developed countries’ = ‘capitalist countries’.

Donald Trump wasn’t president in 2016.

Or would you rather be a fish?

A fish won’t do anything but swim in a brook
He can’t write his name or read a book
To fool all the people is his only thought
Though he’s slippery, he still gets caught
But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish
