I would like to take the opportunity to condemn Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. It was an unnecessary escalation of growing tension that will cost thousands of lives and should be condemned unilaterally.

What I do find disgusting is the double talk of those who rightly condemn the invasion but who are happy to turn a blind eye to Western backed genocide in places like Yemen and Palestine which has been going on for years now and cost countless thousands more lives than will happen in Ukraine.

Supporting war like a football team regardless of the rights and wrongs is quite simply cynical, opportunistic and vile.

I stand with the people of Ukraine, Yemen, Palestine and I stand against the war mongers in Russia, the US and UK.

The situation is complex and the role of NATO over the past 20 years should also be highly condemned. The highly respected Noam Chomsky has been highlight the prospect of NATO and Western aggression of this happening for years.

I see Putin’s little mouthpiece is back. In classic u-turn mode with weasel words after getting this so spectacularly wrong for years.

The bottom line is, the people of Crimea spoke at the polling booths, they exercised their democratic right and Crimea was returned to Russian rule democratically and peacefully.

So you would only have an issue with that if you are a deranged far right racist and it’s pretty easy to see that when you scratch at the surface of Russophobia.

It’s sad that Russia continues to have to put up with racist barbs and Western aggression from foreign forces on their borders and territories.

It’s funny alright. It’s not a question of being “right” on a prediction or even where you stand on it. It’s a question of fundamental principles. Fulvio always backed Russian Imperialism and laughed at Ukraine for defending their territory, he’s now taken the easy social media stance (even changing his avatar) with Russia and Putin just following their behaviour of the last 13 years. This follows a sad pattern for him in the last 6 months. On one thread he’d be lambasting the Doxxer while on another cheering on Doxxing from Tech Gemma. That was particularly sad for a one time good poster.

I’d like to believe that this is simply him believing his own hype as a poster but I actually think it might just be a terminal decline. A rebrand and a long spell on the sidelines is required, his core backers need to have a word.

Meanwhile the cynical hypocrites like Tim and Balbec are pretending that Western backed allies have not done far worse in the middle east than Russia have done so far.

I’ve given both of these guys a platform to condemn this in another thread but both have ignored it. I think it shows that Ukraine is merely a tool of exploitation for them to deliver their bigoted world views.

I don’t think wars should be supported like a football team, we should look at the context and who is right and who is wrong. It seems Tim and Balbec are happy to ignore Western war crimes and get quite hostile and confrontational when you point out those double standards.

I fully agree and I’ll not defend those who create the situations for and call out war. I fully back Ukraine here.

It’s just a pity that we have a lot of disingenuous folk here who are quite happy to ignore how they have supported Western allies and forces committing war crimes across the world in wars they created and flamed the tensions for. When I see these people commenting on it here I feel the need to call them out for the hypocrites they are.

He’s supporting Ukraine for the moment it seems. It’s a bit like Mussolini and Italy turning their back on Hitler and the Germans at the end of 1943 and throwing their lot in with the Allies.
