Wales v Ireland

Robbie Keane would have buried that chance that Long had

Very clever clipped cut back by McCarthy for that Long chance. Nice lay off by Long for the Brady chance and Brady did well to tee up Whelan for his effort too. Walters, Brady and Hoolahan are fairly fluid as a three behind Long. Walters over to the left now with Brady having a spell on the right.

Link anyone?

That wasn’t far away. Lovely feet and nice curling effort from Brady

Ireland are still forcing the pace for the most part. McClean came on for the impressive Brady at half time and O’Dea and Green have just been introduced for O’Shea and Whelan. Most of our play is coming down the right via Coleman but I’d like to see Hoolahan get more involved.

Paddy Madden for the slightly disappointing Hoolahan. It’ll be interesting to see if Trap goes for him in the qualifiers off a lone striker after that.

Long should have scored there.

Long should have scored again there

Keogh for Long. Smashing workrate by Long again and some very neat touches too. If he could improve his finishing a little bit, he’d be very, very good.

Long has done a fair bit of should’ve scoring in the last while (obviously not including summer holidays, pedants). Needs goals but I can see Clarke shafting him a bit for Anelka.

Great effort by Madden excellently saved by Myhill. McClean’s rebound blocked by the defender.

Madden with another chance.

Rickie lambart scores with his first touch for England from a baines corner

Good to see Kieran Westwood starting in goal for Sunderland today
