Because they put lives on the line to get us out from under British rule. It didn’t go down to well at the time but it was the spark that was needed. The British didn’t help themselves by killing them either.
Is it not he Irish mentality anyway to be pissed at anyone who may cause a bit of difficulty for them getting out and about? Sure we see it now, if there is protest about something, the amount of people moaning because the protest has made it difficult for them to get their cup of coffee or the sandwich.

Slab helped with the peace process, that didn’t give him immunity for running a criminal operation laundering Fuel. He deserves to be locked up for that.
He donated 6 figure sums to the RA he never got back. He’s a businessman and philanthropist, why should he have to pay money to a state that neglected his neighbours when he was breaking his back to help them out?
