Wedding Etiquette

Is it fair to touch the screen to generate a collection of words that says the ballsy guys stopped wearing ties to weddings a few years back? I’ll be a guest at a ceremony tomorrow (random pleb rather than anyone important) and I’m thinking of foregoing a tie. Suit and shirt with open top button. Is this acceptable?

Go for it, pal. You’re your own man, do what feels comfortable

You know, what? You’re right.

Your forehead may feel a bit naked during the band.
Otherwise, ties are a dying convention.

There’s not a tie made thatd cover that.

Somebody choose you to join them in one of the most important days in their lives, but you’ll turn up dressed like a corner boy?
You make me sick.

I would wear a tie, pal but I’d be of the old school.

I would too for the church, but I’d take it off fairly quickly afterwards.

Not even close!

My brother in law turned up to my brothers wedding with no tie. In fact he went with the professor look. My sister and he laughed it off. We weren’t laughing. Less than a year later he had the full suit at his young fellas christening, the brother and I were :triumph:.

This all happened 20 years ago, I have to leave this shit go.

Only a proper cunt would go casual to someone’s wedding

Using “leave it go” instead of “let it go” is formal confirmation that you’re now a naturalised Corkman.

Do you know, I was thinking the same. I’d be fairly old school like @Fagan_ODowd. You wear the tie to start the day, and when things start to cut loose later you take it off. That’s how it’s always been.

Can’t believe it. Will be crying into my pint of Rebel Red down in Barry’s later…

Wear a tie @bandage for fucksake
I haven’t a notion about fashion but iv been to a good few weddings this year and rarely would some cunt turn up without one but when they do it’s always always without fail an utter fucking dose.

If you want to forego something then leave off your socks, it seems to be all the go

What about one of these? Best of both worlds

We had the brother in law as godfather for our second. He’s a bit of a fashionista and turned up with a bit of fluffy stubble. I didn’t like it.

To validate both the points above of being both an utter fucking dose and a ballsy guy, I’ve not worn a tie to a wedding in a good 3 years.
