Clare are even money with Powers to beat Waterford at the weekend, they should have a far better forward line out than the one that beat Tipp at the weekend and their backline will be strong and they seem to be eager enough to win these games given that they won’t get too many tough challenges in Division 2, Waterford sem to be giveing a lot of fringe lads a run so far in this competition…
UCC at 11/8 to beat UL below in Cork as well looks to have a bit of value about it
Everton away to Wigan at 11/8 with PP is the best bet of a trappy weekend in the EPL. Bookies have the weekend priced well tho I can imagine Man Utd at 2/1 away to Arsenal will have a lot of backers. Still Rio Ferdinand is a massive loss at the back.

I’ll NAP Everton at 11/8.
I’ll go on record as saying that I agree with you on that one.

When/ where are these games on Puke?
(This will be height of my participation in this thread after last weekend)
serena williams at 10-11 looks overpriced tomorrow to get past justine henin
both players are playing very well but i feel serena’s power in the serve on the hard court will see her home.
im on anyway
regarding sunday, ive had egypt at 8-1 backed to win the ACN since before the competition began and id back them again to win to nil aginst ghana on sunday.
i just had a 3-1 winner there in wolves in the 6.10, bajan tryst came in , kevib A ryan is worth following in this weather always.
earlier on today, harry findley / paul nicholls / ruby walsh had 2-13 shout Tataniano turned over in a novice chase in newbury in a 3 horse race !!
i know 2 lads who got burnt on this, the distance betting was less than 14 lengths at 6-4.
This fella is going straight to the arkle and today was basically meant to be a run out for him however to me he looked beaten after the last.
i would have backed him if he was no shorter than 8-11 before the race, but 2-13 is an impossible price, even tho it was virtually impossible to make a case against him
you’d have to wonder how lads can wade in at that those odds…
racing truly is some cunt of a game…
i havent been at it that much in january kev, but kevin ryan always has winners in january,.
i think i advised to follow him on some betting thread there a few weeks ago.
i used to be very disciplined at this stuff back in ireland, id watch reruns of races at night from the ATR website and try to keep records of what was going on, limiting myself to 4-5 bets a month, (proper bets , not messy 10 'er EW jobs).
in january, norwich city and southampon in doubles have been consitently winning me money along with every saturday nite, hapoel tel aviv / maccabi haifa dbl in israel…
im waiting to get the courage to plunge into 3 big EW bets for cheletenham that are exceptional value
champion hurdle , binocular 8-1 ( small EW on already)
triumph , mille chief 5-1 (ive a small EW at 16-1 since october)
world hdle , karaback 5-1
ill probably use the money ill hopefully win in egypt on sunday to back mille cheif id say
lads,
i like the look of doctor pat in the class 2 handicap chase at 1 30 in cheltenham tomoro
he was impressive when i saw him at newbury the day of the rearranged long walk hurdle on 28 decmeber and is currently trading at 5-1 which means he is backable EW.
im backing him EW
i have not gotten any word for this, its only me doing a pit or research myself and my own inclination so bare that in mind…
I’ll only be placing one bet this weekend and that will be on our bitch in the final in Limerick. She is nicely drawn and should be a decent price (for limerick e.g. 7/2), if she breaks well she will go very close.

the danger in the race would have to be pigeon island, in normal circumstances any horse that ran 6l behind tataniano would have to be respected but after todays showing by tataniano the form is not franked enough for me.
also pigeon island was beaten 18l on new years day at cheltenham by seven is my number in a 2 horse race so i cannot be having pigeon island.
the nicholls horse five dream finished 17l behind tananiano in the same race as pigeon island so there is not enough there for me. this horse is clearly nicholls second string in terms of arkle contenders, and there is not enough to tempt me here
Dr. Pat is up 7llb for winning in newbury in that class 3, thsi is a huge step up in class but i feel that stepping back in trip by a furlong, AP on board and the firmer surface at cheltenham is an appealing prospect.
They’ll probably open her up at 5/2 and O’Neill at evens, i’d say you’ll be doing well to get 7/2 Runt!
She’ll open at 3’s and be pushed out to 7/2. If it was a proper market she would 4’s or 5’s. But they only time the bookies in Limerick ever put a 4 up is if there’s a 6 in front of it.
Depends. She could be 3’s without the 1 dog either.
Sure on the bare form of the sweep she’s only scraped through.
Will you be in for a punt?
It’s unlikely at this stage as the card doesn’t overly excite me to be honest. But saying that i have no plans tomorrow evening and if i get raked into a session in Limerick i could see myself and a few others hitting the Markets Field first. I really don’t know…
I believe the end of year awards are being handed out tomorrow night? I haven’t checked the lists but i’m surely down for newcomer of the year in the mid-west greyhound scene…

I didn’t see your name on the list, but I did see that a bitch that we trounced in our last race is getting bitch of the year.
can we get a price comparison here between the major firms for this?
this looks an intrigiung contest.
id imagine there is some fearless betting on course at these evenst with lads totally loosing the run of themselves, reminds me of when we were younger betting on bowling matches on the road on a saturday evening in east cork.

You won’t get a price on regional dogs in any bookies. They wouldn’t touch em with a barge pole.
Harolds X and Shelbourne are the only places you can bet on without being on course (bar the tote).

The Ballydonnell Sam affair put paid to all that :D
i went dog racing once in lifford and the punting at the track on races the equivilant of a BAGS (bookmakers afternoon greyhound service) event you would see in say romford on a tuesday afternoon on SIS was truly astounding,
lads flaking a grand on the lad down the roads dog at 2-1 all because they were his mate and they hated the other cunt who owned a pub on the street whose dog was in trap 4 and wanted to see him beat.
there used to be ferocious shit going on ( and there probably is ) in scores (bowling matches) down in east cork where lads would be betting their weeks wages at even money on their brother to win a bowling match against some other local type on a saturday evening.
how fellas arent killed in the rows after over the money ill never know

I’ve never seen a proper bowls game. Would they be on much any more?
