GARDAI are winding down their investigations after the wife of a detective claimed she was attacked three times in her home by intruders.
Officers have been unable to identify any suspects in the alleged attacks on boutique owner Regina Sweeney (36). They had been working on the theory that a gang had attacked her because of her garda connections.
Ms Sweeney said she was first attacked in her home near Castlebar, Co Mayo, in Decem-ber by two men. Following that incident, she appeared on âThe Late Late Showâ during a discussion about a rural crime wave.
She claimed a second attack occurred last month when she was taunted that she âwasnât as cocky now as on the tellyâ.
Ms Sweeney said a third attack happened last week.
WTF?
I heard Saturday night in a pub⌠âThat only for she had a panic alarm around her neck she would have been killedâ ⌠and that she was âtaken away in an ambulanceâ and that âLimerick gangsâ were involved???
Looks like we have another Mayo Reggie Perrin on our hands.
HmmmmâŚ
Isnât her husband a Police Officer of some sort?

She came across as a bit of a clown on the Late Late. In fact that whole discussion was hilarious.
Maybe she was beaten up but that it was by someone known to her and they concocted the stories together?
Was she talking when she should have been listening?

Toronto police are looking for four female suspects who they say allegedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old man.
The incident happened during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 31, after the man met the four women at a nightclub near King Street and University Avenue. The man left the club with the women who offered to drive him home, according to a written statement from Toronto police.
âThe complainant was instead driven to a parking lot in the area of Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue where he was sexually assaulted by all four suspects,â said the statement.
After the suspects let go of the man, they were seen leaving the area in a vehicle that resembled a silver Honda SUV.

Detective Constable Thomas Ueberholz with the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit said that his division does get complaints of sexual assaults on males by females.
âAlthough the majority generally is females that are victims or complainants, it is not completely unusual for a male to be the victim of a sexual assault,â he said.
A 2003 report from the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics showed that men comprised eight per cent of adult victims of sexual assaults that were reported to police. Male victims of sexual assault are just as likely as female victims to report the crime to police, according to the report.

Nicole Pietsch, co-ordinator of the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres, said that male victims, like female victims, can encounter stigmas when seeking help.
âOther men will say for example, âOh, heâs so lucky,â like that was actually a positive thing when it wasnât,â Ms. Pietsch said. âI think that that just feeds into the myth that sexual violence is something the victim wants.â
Police say the four female suspects are all white, in their thirties, and approximately 5â4â and 200 pounds. The women were wearing short black dresses with high heels and no nylons. The SUV driver had a British accent with short blond hair and a tattoo of wings on the back of her neck. Another woman had longer, dark hair with red dye at the bottom.
Anybody with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
5â4" and 200 pounds. Thatâs a whole lot of woman âŚ
