[quote=āBandageā]RTE are reporting that, other than Forde, the only other absentee for Wexford this weekend will be David Walsh - heās out with an ankle injury. Carlow was a good venue for us last year so hopefully itāll hold true on Saturday night.
I donāt know what to expect really as ātalkā of Wexford being āflyingā and āpeaking just in time for the championshipā has been gathering pace at home (probably started by Mac). But you often hear stuff like that and it turns out to be scheidt. A few dodgy things have been going on too that donāt really tally with a squad thatās working its balls off.
Heading along to the U21 game tonight. Not the worst looking team to me although a few prominent lads missing alright.
Some lad on the Wexford site was saying theyāve only had 7 training sessions before tonightās game.
Hopefully weāll pull through anyway or at least put up a good battle.
Wexford (SFC v Kildare) - A. Masterson, B. Malone, P. Wallace, G. Molloy, C. Morris, D. Murphy, A. Doyle, B. Doyle, E. Bradley, A. Morrissey, R. Barry, C. Byrne, C. Lyng, S. Cullen, PJ Banville.
Have to say that is one weak team. Unless Ciaran Lyng steps up big time there aint much scores in that forward line. The defence looks as ropey as ever. Will the Dub drop back as an extra half back?

Yeah, itās just pretty much the team that got to the All-Ireland Semi final last year.
Ah no, doesnāt look as strong to me too alright. Though Kinsella might have started ahead of Boccy. Boccy did well last year though after the Dublin game so hopefully heās come on a step more and is more mobile.
If Cullen plays to his potential heād be a close replacement for Forde.
Still donāt fear Kildare though.

Dead right pikie. I have a feeling these Kildare boys have peaked far too soon. Reports of many of them completley gone off the boil.
Will be interesting to see if its true. Wexford have first crack to find out.

or the same team that got relegated to div 3 this year conceding some of the highest scores in the land?
Is that the lad ye brought back from Oz? I can see that statement coming back to bite you in the arse. Forde has carried that team on his back for years and expect that to be confirmed in his absence.
just see the on wexfordgaa that the following is the bench
Subs: Jason Russell, Damien Carter, Niall Murphy, Kieran Kennedy, Gary Murphy, Thomas Howlin, David Fogarty, David Bradley, Diarmuid Kinsella, Shane Roche, Ciarn Deely, Paddy Colfer, Adrian Flynn, Darren Foran, Gavin Morris.

Very loyal to last years team , suprised cullen is starting a few weeks after knee operation he cant have done much training , thought Shane Roche might have started for byrne,
Some strong subs to make an impact, kinsella, Roche , Deely , Colfer.
If wex break even at midfield its the qualifiers for kildare!
Suprised collie is starting, Iām assuming he will drop back as an extra defender and cullen or banville with come out to leave a two man full forward line
Went to Parnell Park tonight. 1-24 to 0-8 for Dublin at the end. Missed the first eight or nine minutes but Dublin were already 0-7 to 0-1 up by then and the rest of the first half was just shooting practice. Score went out to 0-14 to 0-2 coming up to half-time, Wexford got three late points to leave it 0-15 to 0-5 at half time.
Rain came down steadily for the second half and it was like a challenge game for the last 20 minutes. In fact most of the match was in truth. Not much to say really except that Dublin were utterly dominant all over the field. Rushe up front was absolutely lording it and Peter Kelly of Lucan Sarsfields had a superb game at right half forward. David Tracey from Cuala got the goal half way through the second half.
Andrew Shore who was centre half back for Wexford limped off about ten minutes into the second half but it didnāt look serious. The only two Wexford players I can even conciously remember getting scores were full forward Joe Cullen of Rapparees and right half forward Harry Kehoe of Cloughbawn who both got good points coming up to half time. As a Dub Iād say thatās the worst Wexford team Iāve seen. Some of their attempts at link play were woeful eg they often couldnāt even find a team mate with a handpass.
Iād be optimistic enough Dublin wil beat Kilkenny in the final but on the downside the final is in Nowlan Park and tonight was no test at all so nothing was really learnt.
Great Wexford performance. Thereās been a plethora of reports about the huge strides being made in Dublin hurling over the past few years so itās no mean feat to be within 6 or 7 pucks of the ball with them at full time.
Really fooking dire stuff. As I alluded to yesterday, that was one pretty weak team and, combined with management only being appointed at the start of May, it was a recipe for what turned out to be an absolute disaster.
We were 0-10 to 0-1 down after 15 minutes and it was game over in no uncertain terms. They were dominant all over the field, with the sole exception of Andrew Shore at centre back, who put in a battling performance. He actually twisted his knee and went off midway through the second half - hopefully itās only a precaution but he was hobbling around after the game.
Dublin played like a unit and they were strong and determined and knocked the ball around well. They were more cohesive than their seniors and worked some lovely points but we made it incredibly easy for them. We trailed 0-15 to 0-5 at half time after outscoring them by 0-3 to 0-1 over the last 5 minutes.
It was more of the same after the break really. Lots of our lads were out of their depth and they probably would have racked up a bigger score only most of the half was played in a heavy downpour that made conditions difficult.
All of their lads looked the part really. Rory OāCarroll was good centre back, the midfield was well on top and all the forwards contributed. One of the seniors, David Tracey, got an excellent goal created by Liam Rush, who also played on Sunday and scored 0-4 tonight. The two wing forwards, Kelly and Garbutt, chipped in with a raft of points and the corner forwards were on target too.
We were naive at the back, outplayed in midfield and their defence shoved our forwards around and were far too strong and imposing.
