Wexford GAA 2010

Where was all this posted?
Some shite on the Wexford supporters forum anyway-pain in the arse reading some of the scutter spouted there these days.

Sounds like the drunken ramblings of a mad man

Drunken mad man is right though.

I respectfully disagree with tipptops* / Gman. I supported Bonnar last year and at the end of what was a poor first season. But his off season work and treatment of the likes of Rory Jacob and Nicky Kirwan is shocking. I’m in the unenviable position of wanting both Wexford senior managers fired forthwith. The final straw was last Sunday week when he didn’t attend the Wexford-Ballyhale match because he was in Meelick on a spying mission to see our Division 2 rivals Clare against WIT. No, he was looking after his WIT team and prioritising them over Wexford. He can go and fook off with his bogger accent and stupid lisp.

Granted Ryan is a poser of epic proportions but he did take Wex to the All Ireland semi final only a couple of years ago. Forde carried that team on his back and without him your nothing. Thought your man Lyng would be better though. Great goal he got that time.

Has Rory Jacob been dropped from the hurling squad? Very good hurler that lad. All he is missing is self belief and a bit of pace probably. Clare must be absolute certainties to win that Div 2 now.

Ryan keeps the selectors out on the field for ages at half time in every game. They’ll often be standing in a circle and then he’ll move into the middle of it and start gesturing wildly with his arms and stuff to emphasise the importance of the tactical points he’s making. Lyng was good enough last year in what was obviously a poor team - he’s with UCD for these O’Byrne Cup games.

Rory Jacob has been dropped all right. My mole informs me that they’ve told the lads playing these challenge games that they’ve decided on 23 players for a league panel and they’re all playing for the last 6 or 7 spots. The league panel won’t contain any of the already dropped lads like Jacob*, even though some people have been assuming that he’ll come back in for the league and Bonnar’s just looking at other options at the moment. Nicky Kirwan was far and away the best forward in the county championship last year and, while he didn’t go great for Wexford last season, he surely deserves another league campaign. He’s apparently ‘too small’ while they persist with other small lads and have called up a rake of new dwarves who don’t possess anywhere near the ability of Jacob and Kirwan.

We know we’re shit but they should be picking the best of the shit lads as opposed to picking really shit lads in a completely ad hoc manner. Others will say, ‘sure, it’s good he’s giving these lads a go’ but there’s a difference between that and picking players who are blatantly nowhere near up to the standard while jettisoning (great word that) players that could offer something. I really think he’s taking the piss to be honest. And the selectors seem to be too - calling up loads of lads from their own clubs and stuff.

Double header in Gorey next Sunday - hurlers versus UCD at 1pm, footballers versus Westmeath at 2.30pm.

 • This may not be accurate.

would agree with most of that bandage. the point tipptops made was in reference to the oulart lads who have an unbelievable chip on their shoulder and whine about everything. also I think the point tipptops made was done so a couple of months back. I still think its worthwile to bring in lads and give them a go, but only if they are capable of it. not sure what the full story is with who is dropped etc, but I had heard there was only 3 players dropped, and Rory wasnt one of them. I just wonder if he isnt going to go in solidarity to his brother who was dropped, and as he will now only get half as many passes in a game now that Mick wont be there to hit every ball to him. I’d be hesitatnt to criticise managers / selectors panels at this time of year when they are trying out lads in shit competitions.

I was in proper rant mode here alright

I imagine clare and Wexford will win all the games against the other teams and then play each other in the final to see who goes up - In reality both Counties need only concentrate on that one game - the rest of the season will be glorified training sessions.
I was in proper rant mode here alright :D.
you sure were. at least you got it off your chest anyway

yup, same as last year. sure Wexford lost to Antrim and fooked up another game I think, but the only one that mattered was the final against Offaly, and they fluffed that. clowns

Just heard that Good Counsel teacher and hurling mentor Cloughbawn’s Tom Walsh has passed away.

RIP.

And that Tipptops, is exactly the kind of situation that Wexford traditionally fuck everything up in. January - we have bugger all to on but rumour, innuendo and a spate of fairly meaningless challenge matches. I think we would all do well to reserve any judgements until halfway through the Nat Leagues. Then we can moan with some level of credibility.

Any more news / rumours about Damian Fitz?

Haven’t heard anything since. Locals paper will probably have something on it tomorrow.

For that, we’re not friends anymore Puke. You are forthwith banished, penance is required. Go fuck yourself. How would you like it if I said Brian Lohan takes it up the arse?

I wouldn’t like it at all but if it was true then I would accept Brian’s lifestyle choice

Brian can do what he wants. And if Wexford folk were alright sorts they’d let Damien Fitzhenry suck off all the horses he wants

You’re nothing to me now.

Rest in Peace,i think hes being buried today,he did an awful lot of work in developing hurlers from Kilkenny and Wexford in GCC and was invloved in almost all of thier successes over the past 3 decades,i dont think he was involved with football at all as far as i know, its a sad loss for his Family, community and his school at just 58.
