Won by eight.
Gusserane were well on top in the first half when they used Keith O’Grady as a sweeper.
When they have the wind in the second half they put him back into the forwards and Red Barry went to town on them.

thats a decent margin alright. Horeswood beat Taghmon handy enough in the other game in Ross too. They are looking good again this year, but to be honest, havent really been tested yet at all. but good to get some big scores up and get things ticking over.
so its Horeswood, Fethard, Castletown, St Annes, Kilanerin, Adamstown, Duffry Rovers, Shelmaliers in quarter finals
and 3 of Taghmon, Ballyhogue, Gusserane, Starlights, Bannow, Glynn, Sarsfields and Clongeen who will be relegated.
I reckon either Horeswood or Castletown will take the title.
Three from Ballyhogue, Sarsfields, Glynn and Taghmon to take the plunge.
typical of Fethard to manage to stay out of the relegation battle the year that 3 go down… and yet they’ve been in relegation final the last number of years
And to think people laughed at me here when I tipped Fethard for good things this year. I believe they got rid of some of the dead wood on the panel too.
dead wood or old wood pikeman?
Is the final round of senior hurling group games on this weekend?
PS, fuck Clonard.
some good tipping alright Pikeman. heard that too about them alright, they look a leaner outfit this year alright. but looking deeper into the qualification of the quarters, all four of the teams in Fethards group last year have qualified for the quarters this year, and 3 out of 4 from the group the year before have also qualified. maybe it was tough draws rather than a shite team that was holding them back!
Team is much better this year and whatever training they are doign is clearly paying off.
They’ll be praying to draw the Duffry now in fairness.
when is the draw on for the quarter finals ?
tonight
The draw for senior is
Horeswood v Adamstown
Castletown v Fethard
Kilanerin v Shels
Duffry v Annes
Horeswood; Castletown; Kilanerin; St Anne’s.
Is the relegation section draw on too?
It was and ye got Taghmon. the others are
Clongeen v Bannow
Starlights v Glynn
Gusserane v Ballyhogue
interesting draws all around. looks like the top 4 teams of the last few years will be making the semi finals, but what odds on some team causing an upset.
the relegation draw threw up some good games. Gusserane will beat Ballyhogue handy. but would be hard to call any of the other games. Clongeen and Bannow will be some tough game.
Ramsgrange got Ferns in the intermediate.
Dunbrody Gaels Beat Starlights tonite…
How did Taghmon do in their group again? Sarsfields have been scoring 13 points or so per game - I’d like to think a 2-7 or 2-8 would be enough against this lot. Who have they again? Doyle, Colfer, Waters and around 7 O’Gormans.
I stepped out with a cousin of theirs from padjos direction back in the day. There’s some fooking amount of them in that area.
Would Shels have enough to upset Kilanerin?
