Itâd be perfect if it was early to mid October, as Iâll be home for that to cheer on the glorious Halfway.
What other club GAA action can I expect in Wexford in October?

Senior hurling final is definitely fixed for Sunday, 10 October. The semi-finals are on 26 September.
Iâm guessing that the football final is going to be on Sunday, 3 October. The semi-finals are taking place tomorrow.
What are Oulartâs chances of winning Leinster this yearâŚ
I reckon theyâve got a pretty good chance as theyâre clearly streets ahead of anyone in Wexford and should be aiming for this anyway. The way they use the ball, create space and the movement and interchanging of their forwards is fairly good. Dunne was insisting last year that they were going to have a real go at Leinster and they were beaten by Ballyhale in Wexford Park after extra time. Theyâre fairly solid all over the park and have the likes of Des Mythen and Stephen Doyle back from injury now too.
The football final is fixed for the 3rd alright.
Semi-finals should be two good games tomorrow. Castletown and Adamstown might be a low scoring game but should be an interesting one between two defensive teams. Iâd fancy Castletown to get through by a few points.
I donât think Red Barry is back for the Annes so would fancy Kilanerin to also win by 3 or 4 points.
Clonard GAA Club notes in the Wexford People:
This Saturday is a huge day for the club. Our Junior footballers are in county semi final action against last yearâs runners-up, Monageer Boolavogue.
This game is of massive significance as not alone do the victors qualify for the county final but, due to restructuring this year, both finalists will be promoted to the Intermediate ranks. This in essence makes Saturdayâs game another county final.
This team has shown tremendous battling spirit all year and deserve some reward for their efforts, not just this year but over the last number of years.
We would ask all club members young and old to make a special effort to get to St. Patrickâs Park this Saturday for the game to offer support and encouragement as the team once more go in search of honours. The game will throw in at 1 p.m.
We would like to wish the very best of luck to all those involved.
FOAD Clonard. :guns:
Why do you hate Clonard the most anyway Bandage and not Maudlistown or Joeyâs?
Clonard won.
They are up so.
Castletown beat Adamstown 2-7 to 1-4 today. Leading by 2-4 to 1-1 at half time.
Kilanerin beat St Annes 1-11 to 0-9. David Fogarty sent off just as full time was approaching for punching, which wouldnt be like him in fairness.
2 favorites advance to the county final anyway. Should be a good one, local rivalry and all that. Wouldl be a good one for Castletown to finally win a co title for first time in donkeys years by beating their neighbours who have had all the success lately. Itâll be tough for them tho.
Has anyone heard anything about the senior hurling set up for next year? Apparently thereâs going to be a new coach and set of selectors assisting Bonnar but nobody I spoke to at the game yesterday seemed to know the deal. Whoâd want to get involved anyway? I would guess that Ger Doyle asked Liam Dunne if he wanted the top job and was met with a negative response so itâs handy to keep Bonnar there for the moment. I expect Dunne wants to push on and try to win provincial honours with Oulart but I would hope that heâll be our next manager though. Mullally, the coach, was meant to be good but limited in what influence he could exert what with Bonnar ultimately calling the shots so weâll really be all at sea if we donât get some decent people involved. As I say, I really canât see too many people with the required ability getting involved given weâre at a low ebb and theyâd be joining a manager that hasnât impressed at all.
Have the St Jamesâ contingent got over their disappointment from last weekend?
The biggest game this weekend is of course the senior football relegation final between Sarsfields and Glynn-Barntown.
The senior hurling semi-finals are also down for decision.
No bando we have not.
Paddy Wickham will have an extra big smile on his face for the winter safe in the knowledge that Davidstown will play at Intermediate in both Football and Hurling for the first time in their history next season.
Iâm also half waiting for Ger Doyle to throw out the line that our senior intercounty teams must not have had too bad a season as we were knocked out by the eventual All Ireland champions in both codes.
Any details on the annual âReview of sturcturesâ promised after the mauling in Thurles?
Yep, I think he had it in the Stillorgan Park Hotel the morning of the camogie final. It convened in the bar and ended 5 mins later. The outcome was âsure it canât get any worse next yearâ.
could ye not amalgamate with a nearby club to give your players the chance at playing senior?
most of our players have played senior, we won intermediate in 2002, we will win it again next year.
i trust a nearby club will continue in their practices in poaching some of our younger players with the promise of making county teamsâŚ
count you forgot to add how St.Jamesâ players are making senior teams unlike players from a nearby clubâŚ
One fella who played the odd game in the league for the hurlers and another useless gangly lad whoâs not even close to being intercounty standard for the footballers is it?
