Anybody got any idea who’ll make the hurling starting lineup?
Fanning and Breen were interchanged throughout the league but Fanning apparently got injured playing club recently. I think Breen is a more solid keeper in any case so I hope he gets the nod.
Not sure who’ll be manning the central defensive positions. Waters and Shore were both tried at full back in the league and Rossiter is fit again now too. Kehoe was centre back for a few games but Shore also played there. Eoin Moore has returned to training too and it was interesting to see Dunne mention young players like Moore and Morris as being leaders - I guess it shows we’re maybe missing that bit of experience.
So we’re probably looking at 6 from Moore, Waters, Rossiter, Kehoe, Shore, Ciarán Kenny and Eanna Martin as it looks like Chin is going to be used further forward (don’t really think centre forward suits him and would prefer him to be midfield if not in the half back line).
After that it’s a bit sketchy - we haven’t really had a settled half forward line (hence the Chin experiment) and I’m not sure who’ll be midfield either. There’s a few options for both areas with the likes of Harry Kehoe, David Redmond, Eoin Quigley and Chin capable of lining out in either sector. Other half forward options are Garrett Sinnott - he’s the captain and should be playing - and PJ Nolan.
Rory Jacob and Paul Morris will start in the full forward but I don’t know who’ll join them. We need a knowledgeable hurling man to provide some information here.

A few surprises there. I didn’t even know Jack Guiney was back with the senior panel.
I was just about to ask. I have to say the level of inside knowledge on this thread has dropped badly since Gavin Gavin 2 and cailinlochgarman stopped posting.
Also, isn’t yer man Keith Rossiter one of your consistently good players, yet he is on the bench?
Finally, I remember watching a Wexford game last year in the company of a young female UCD student who was creaming herself every time Jack Guiney got the ball.

Keith Rossiter is only after returning from injury.
This is very true - it’s a simple case of losing insider knowledge as you grow older and don’t know people directly involved. The only other option is to become one of those weirdos who attends inter-county training sessions and who badgers county board officials to find out venues for behind closed door challenge matches.
Reading about a ticket shortage for Drogheda on Sunday too. As we know, the capacity is around 75 so get moving if you want to attend. Louth have selected their team too. I don’t buy into the “advantage of already playing a game” theory myself.
To think there’s gimps on other threads excited about Limerick-Tipperary in hurling when those of us in Drogheda will get to see the battle of the two best midfielders in Ireland - Waters versus Keenan.

Will Chin really play the two games do you think or will he be rested from the football after playing the previous evening?
I’d say he’ll play both as he’s a supreme athlete. But I imagine Dunne will take him off after 50 minutes or so on Saturday night when we have enough of a lead built up.
