Any truth in the rumour that Chin is out for Saturday @Bandage ?
Yes, medial knee ligament injury. Heâll be out for 4-6 weeks so will definitely miss Saturday.
Also heard they played Cork in a challenge match. Anyone know how they got on? Pity about chin but unfortunately these things happen.
Whatâs the story with David Redmond, chaps?
In general, or have you a specific question?
His injury status / county squad status, pal.
FFS sake. Ended up doing my own research*
Chinâs quoted in the local press and says he retains hope of playing. Injury only happened last Tuesday against Cork so a 10-day turnaround for a medial ligament tweak/strain seems tight.
Bad news: James Breen (hamstring in training last weekend) and Aidan Nolan (knee, 4-6 week lay off) are definitely out.
David Redmond has a hip/groin issue so he wonât feature and Andrew Shore is obviously out with his cruciate.
Shame about Breen as he looked like becoming a lock-down corner back in the league.
Shane Tompkins and Ian Byrne have shaken off recent injuries and are available.
*read The Wexford People.
Jamesâ has had a few tough years transition since the draft and if he can shake these nagging injury concerns i believe he can be a star player for the Wexford franchise
Naomhan / Nevin Rossiter (broken hand) and Michael OâRegan (popped shoulder) are OUT for the footballers.
Rossiter is a huge loss, any idea who will play full back now?
I think we have the players could cause those lilywhite choke merchants some real hassleâŚ
Yere almost as worthless as ourselves
Jim Rossiter maybe?, played there with the U21s. Pity Reagan is gone, added a bit of height/strength to the forwards
Any word on possible teams for saturday yet? Much of a crowd heading from wexford do ye reckon?
Expecting a hurling team and possibly a football team too.
Really? Ye havenât managed to field a full team of hurlers in a while.
We expected to beat Dublin in 2014 but didnât. Now the long injury list seems to have completely dampened expectations this time. I wouldnât rule us out but Iâd be pleasantly surprised if we won. Playing in 1B will stand to us and Dublin blow hot and cold.
To stand any chance we canât let them move the ball through the lines and get their running game going. They used 40/50 yard puck outs repeatedly against us in The Walsh Cup in Croker earlier this year. Possession secured, look for the short pass to the next runner and then deliver diagonal ball to the 2 inside forwards or take a point attempt from distance. Plenty of movement and support runners.
Our feeble attempts to stop this at source were embarrassing but it was only The Walsh Cup. We need to HIT THE CUNTS, make them cough up the ball in their own half, disrupt their rhythm/flow and make them doubt themselves. If they click into gear and we donât show much in response then youâll have Treacy, OâCallaghan, Dillon, Schutte and co looking like world beaters.
Weâll miss the strength and industry of Redmond and Shore around the middle third so we really need Chin to be fully fit.
Is this match on tv?
Yes, RTE on Saturday night. 7.15pm throw-in.
