That’d be common enough in places. We did something similar this year.
We were trying to be graded down the way. Holycross couldn’t field a team so we “played” the fixture.
It was a draw, both teams happy. The ref got his expenses and we got our draw. Job done.

Hardly surprising you’d be involved in something that involved short cutting a process

Intermediate Hurling Final: Oylegate/Oilgate/Oylgate-Glenbrien 1-14 Adamstown 0-10.

Intermediate Football Final: Taghmon-Camross 0-8 Bannow-Ballymitty 0-7.

Senior Hurling Final between Oulart-The Ballagh and Cloughbawn tomorrow.

Are you going down for it bud? Oulart to win?

take the “A” out of your grade title, both those intermediates are that. The Intermediate A hurling was a draw between the south west rivals St Mogues and St James’. As a result of which, the premier minor football final will be postponed next week and god knows when we’ll get it played.

Yeah, I’m heading along alright. Oulart are strong favourites again and should win. The bookies have the handicap at 5 or 6 points.

Davy Fitz is apparently marching around the pitch between the junior and senior finals behind the Loch Garman Brass Band. Should be a lovely welcome for him and a great occasion for all.

enjoy yourself pal. county finals are great little traditions

Done. I’ve never got the hang of it since they brought in the second intermediate grade. I struggle to remember if “A” is above or below “normal” intermediate.

Is it in long enough at this stage just to simply call it the Junior championship and fuck the teams still in it who get in a strop over being downgraded from intermediate? It is technically Junior, may as well just call it that.

The big Derby game in New Ross proved to have a few logistical problems. Firstly, the traffic was mental due to the stupid new traffic light arrangement in Irishtown, so traffic was backed up to before the turn off for Tesco. There is fuck all parking around and the only provision made was for a few cars to get into the ground, which in itself was an issue, particularly for those leaving after by all accounts.

Anyway, with cars dumped all over roads near the ground, the entrance procedure beat all. There was one entrance gate open, but to get in you had to queue to buy a ticket. So beside the entrance gate, there was a little window hatch to buy your ticket. So you had to queue to buy a ticket and then join a queue beside this to actually get in. So it was just one big mess of a load of people trying to queue for 2 different things in the one spot. The fact that the ground borders the road meant the queues formed went out to the middle of the road. Cars actually wanting to pass may as well forget about it. Some joke of a setup.

Did he get paid to go to the game

Davy on Sunday sport now

Inspirational words from Davy Fitzgerald on South East Radio at the moment.

the Oirish :joy:

Cloughbawn had a great chance today at 10-10 heading into the last quarter but Oulart’s experience and composure shone through playing against the strong wind. Rossiter, Redmond and Sinnott (when he moved out to the half forward line) were really good and they worked the ball around intelligently and picked off some fine points to pull 6 clear. Cloughbawn made too many poor decisions in possession in the second half and the goal at the death was a mere consolation. They hurled very well in the first half though and Colm Kehoe was excellent at centre back in that period. Oulart play the Offaly champions in three weeks.

How did the rossitors, Staffords, Henleys, Windsors and all the other west Brit cunts do today @Bandage ?

Davy getting 60k and the use of a house in Wexford. Jim Bolger funding.
