Wexford GAA 2020

DOC was wing forward in '07 when we upset Tipp I think. May have scored a point or two.

We were due to open our championship campaign at home to Dublin tomorrow. It set me off looking for Rory Oā€™Connorā€™s winning point from downtown in the equivalent fixture two years ago. 2 minutes 40 seconds into this video. Rory Oā€™Connor is superb. Just look at this footage. The way he knifes, scythes, cuts through a defence with a sharp change of direction at pace is just fantastic, like for the penalty in the Leinster Final last year. But also for several points struck off either side in this video. If he could become a little bit more consistent then weā€™ll surely win the All Ireland before 2023.

Rory O Connor is a class act. A real tip end forward that Wexford havent had in years. They just need to settle on a position for him. He seems to be moved around a lot or else they should make him the fulcrum of their attack like Canning/Callanan.

Like Joe heā€™ll find his natural position at centre back before long

Has anyone already posted about The Hurling Podcast? Done by Ben Bernie from Ferns and Gary Moore (I think) from Askamore. Theyā€™ve 10 odd episodes done so far with a mix of hurlers from the last 3 decades. Iā€™ve listened to 7 of them so far

I just listened to the Jack Guiney one today and was amazed how honest he was about himself. The two with Gizzy are also top class. The lads are great at probing a bit and then just shutting up and letting lads talk. Not sure what their backgrounds are and if this is their field or if itā€™s just a side thing they picked up. Either way, its well worth a listen.

First episode is below

Will Richie Lawlor need another couple of years to step up to senior ??

Iā€™d say so. Be a lot to expect a lad just out of U17ā€™s to be at the required level of physicality. A few promising prospects for Wexford from last years Minors though.

Have listened to a good few of them. Itā€™s an easy listen and good to have something on a local level. Guests have been good so far too. Itā€™s Gary Doran, heā€™s from Kilrush so think the 2 lads probably went to school together in Bunclody.

Will those lads get any games at all this year? Whatā€™s the latest on the underage?

I think theyā€™re related too based on a reference they made to one of Dave Bernieā€™s nephews when they were slagging Eoin Conroy

And agreed, itā€™s a very easy listen too

Yeah theyā€™re cousins I think they mentioned in one of the earlier episodes

They could well be, I donā€™t know Gary. Think the Gary Moore youā€™re thinking of plays for Glynn. Was with the senior panel few years back.

Thats the one

Should be back in late July/Early August Iā€™d imagine. A pity they didnā€™t leave minor and U21 the way it was.

Win the House in Maynooth is tomorrow I see on Bookface.

How has it gone @Gman?

Have Larry & Lee promos worked and a cash cow been reared?

@Bandage would be the man in the know. The fact theyā€™re still advertising that tickets are for sale wouldnā€™t indicate a whole lot of positivity to me.

Havenā€™t heard much since, but it hadnā€™t gone well at the original date. Canā€™t see how theyā€™d have got much more considering the lock down since
