Wexford GAA 2020

It’s a cod. Disgrace really.

:joy: :joy:

You may ladybird that for me. I thought some random couple from Dublin won it?

A last minute entry

This @gman. Given their trouble selling tickets throughout it I found it funny how it ended up.

The winner doesn’t exist @gman

Yeah I’d be interested to know how it went for them. I heard the Carlow one is in bother too with someone saying their ticket wasn’t included.

The Carlow one was a disaster!

I heard today that they made 300k from it which I’d find it hard to believe

The absolute state of the hair on the independent draw observer, ex Wexford hurler David O’Connor, in that picture. My ticket number was very similar to the winning entry, but I wouldn’t begrudge Jessica her victory. A genuine feel good story, she was overwhelmed afterwards on South East Radio. She had been saving with her partner and trying to get enough for a house deposit for years. What a decision to divert some of that money to Faythe Harriers.

Willie Cleary is a great man. Hearing him talking about Hurling 365 is amazing. Such common sense and cop on. His enthusiasm is infectious.

That was a really good listen. Wexford hurling are putting down a solid foundation.

Lovely to see Sack and Chinner on the news.

Are faythe harriers any good?

They were in a senior relegation final last year but have a good crop of young players coming through who have won a Feile in 2016 and Premier Minor last year.

The Derek effect

Is Sack related to Billy Walsh ??

Doesn’t Richie Lalor play for them ??

Yes. Think they had a few on the Leinster minor winning team last year. Very reliant on Chin in recent years but they’ve managed to stay up in senior and should improve now.

Don’t think so unless it’s a distant, his ma and his ma are second cousins type thing. They’re the same vintage and would have hurled together with the Harriers and played football with the Sarsfields.

Richie Lawlor, Kyle Scallan (Chin’s first cousin) and Josh Shiel started for the Wexford minors last year. A couple more on the panel. The challenge with town teams is bringing these lads through.

The current senior team probably lack depth and don’t have enough lads in their peak years. They’ve also changed the management a lot. Hopefully a couple of these younger lads can make an impact. I presume the pandemic hasn’t halted the plans to have Derek McGrath involved in an advisory role - Brian Carroll’s tweet suggests he might be involved anyway. His input wouldn’t do any harm.
