I donāt think so.
But sure who knows.

Sure Kilcormac Kiloughy and Coolderry were successful during the 10ās when Offaly hurling was declining.
The Wexford U20ās only lost by a point to the eventual All-Ireland champions this year so itās not all doom and gloom.
Yeah but Wexford hurling championship ending in early August every year cant be good for long term health of the game.
Thereās a motion to play off the next yearās championship in alternating blocks, two weeks hurling, followed by 2 football. Rathnure and Oulart in favour of this, along with others. Will be interesting to see if it gets any traction
Of course they are in favour. They get two weeks off in blocks whilst other teams are hopping off each other in football
Rathnure made the comment in their submission that no time to recover from injury in 7 week championship.
But the 10 week block of group games is graaaannnd.
But will they play football?
Probably more of their B team hurling squad playing football anyway. And they beating everyone in junior B.
Looks like the split season has already finished Wexford as a relevant hurling county.
A clay court style club hurling season ![]()
Seems lads outside Wexford had more expectations for Wexford clubs than Wexford lads had. Apart from Oulart, there hasnāt been a competitive Wexford club in Leinster since Rathnure in 97, I think. We tend to not really give a shit about provincial club championships
Itās been said as much many times, especially at senior level anyway
And Oulart routinely failed in Leinster too.
They were somewhat competitive but massively underachieved
Beat a kilkenny team and then lose to Offaly/Dublin/Carlow clubs
Rathnureās 1999 team might disagree.
Sorry thatās the year Iām thinking of. Mixed my years up
But will they play football?
of course not
To their detriment. Watch.
Oooft
Disappointing from Colm there. Its not that simple you see. OMP is a fortress and the likes of Clough Ballacolla play all their championship games there. They knocked Rapps and Crokes there last year. Rapps may have been ringrusty, but they were up against no mugs.
Ferns had won their first ever County Senior Title in either code. No fucks were solidly given about Leinster, and rightly so. Granted losing to Carlow champions is unacceptable in any mans language, but at the same time, first time county winners for the most part show little interest in provincial campaigns, despite the soundbites beforehand.
And as pointed out here,Wexford teams generally, do fuck all in Leinster.
Iām embarrassed for both peddly and Wooly here.
