And people were complaining about the 6 team groups because St. Martins used to take it easy on matchday 5 after 4 wins from 4. Great bit of drama and variety this year. Such an open championship. Iād probably tip Gorey at present to win it out.
Thinking Rapps myself, winning by 7 against the Martins with 14 men for 50 mins was very impressive.
Ridiculous carry on. Sell 2 tickets for the final through clubs, doesnāt make sense.
They still need to win to have a chance. And probably by about 5 points to be certain of staying out of relegation, otherwise looking for the winners of Crossabeg or Glynn winning by a large margin.
Intermediate is straight forward in group A. Gusserane will finish 4th, they cant finish any other position, so will play Oulart in the quarter final. Any of Bunclody, Fethard or Askamore cam finish in the other top 3 spots. Bunclody winning guarantees them top spot. Adamstown are in the relegation final.
They will play the losers of Ballygarret or St Jamesās in that final. Although if Buffers Alley lose to Taghmon and Ballygarret lose, the Alley will be in that final. Any team can still make it into top 4 of the teams left.
Gusserane arenāt certain yet to finish 4th if them and Bunclody are level on points their 3rd place on head to head, points difference if 3 or more finish level on points, having Aidan nolan back should be a big boost to Bunclody. Donāt think Oulart winning Intermediate is as foregone conclusion as people think, if Fethardās injuries clear up they have a good side for that level.
Fethard Askamore and Bunclody all have 6, and Fethard play Askamore next, so one of them have to stay on 6. Itāll come to scoring difference, so would need Bunclody to lose to Tara Rocks by a lot and Gusserane to beat Adamstown by a lot and the winners of the other game to win by a good chunk too for them to move up. There is a 30 point differential for them to make up on Fethard and Bunclody, so its very unlikely scenario for them to finish anywhere other than 4th. They need Bunclody to lose though to have any chance, and I dont see that happening. A draw between Askamore and Fethard and a Bunclody loss is the only way to get the head to head chance. Again, very unlikely.
Watched Oulart play the Jamesā⦠Fethard will be the perfect foil for them, Oulartās game is predicated on short sharp passing whihc can be discombobulated with some hard hitsā¦
I donāt think Oulart will have anyone to marshal Mikey Dwyer as they donāt really appear to have pace in the defence.
They are reliant on long ball in to Martin Og and Sinnott with Rory pulling the strings in the half forward line with Billy Dunne. they obvs have a lot of hurling but the exuberance of a youthful Fethard team might be too much for them
Fethard are the perfect team to get in their face and to be physical, that is if they meet in the final.
Shane Roche has stepped down as football manager. Who would be in line for it now i wonder?
@Pirlo surely
Paul Cartyās time has come!
David Murphy managing anyone these days?
John Hegarthy might be a front runner.
John Hegarty is a great shout.
The Joeyās.
Wasnāt Dave Murphy over the under 20s? Or was that a few years ago.
Hegarty is a Councillor, a Vice Principal and has a young enough family. Heād be great but not sure heād have the time available for it
You left out heās manager of the county football champions.
Sure one of us could have coached them to win it
If Hegarty feels he can get the best out of that team, Iāve no doubt heād go for it.
