However, a name that rhymes with Fur Toil immediately springs to mind.
How he got the cafe contract in the park still baffles me.
A prince amongst men.
I didnt see any of the game on Saturday but Storey seems to talking a lot of sense.
His principles on hurling seem to be spot on.
Embarrassing line of questioning from Alan Corcoran, he was clearly looking for the click bait headline.
He’s getting some mileage out of it all the same.
Storey makes some good points but the days of the ‘Wexford style’ he describes are long gone.
In fact it’s something his gaffer was trying to eradicate!
As an aside, I think there is a reckoning coming with the game of hurling. A few simple rule changes will get it back on track.
-
All full backs/full forwards inside 20m for puck out.
-
Puck outs must land between 45m lines.
Simple as that.
Not a bad idea at all
I’d do something similar for football.
It’s so boring to watch teams being ‘patient’ going over and back trying to penetrate a blanket defence.
Must be something they can do with GPS trackers to give lads an electric shock if there are too many defenders inside the 45.
I said it before. They should make the puckout at adult level be taken in the same manner as a free. Would add a few percentage points of difficulty to it and reduce accuracy would also be tougher for keepers to disguise where they are going with it and allow teams to push up on short puckouts. Would lead to more puckouts being hit long and being contested.
FAO Wexford lads.
You absolutely need to go through the comments on Facebook.
They are absolutely fantastic.
So many good suggestions in there.
After getting rid of the county board obviously.
link?
sorry, had to do it!
We need a positive Tom Dempsey column in tomorrow’s Wexford People to lift everybody connected with Wexford hurling off the floor. What we need to remember is that these young men are very committed & make a lot of sacrifices to represent Wexford. Sometimes, despite their best efforts, performances & results don’t go as they or we want. But they don’t deserve anonymous people standing behind printers saying they’re shit.
Wexford! Wexford! Wexford!
Whoever decided a 6.45pm throw in for the U20 game tomorrow in Kilkenny was a good idea obviously doesn’t care about A) The players who may have a days work to do first or B) trying to put as many bums on seats as possible. Unless I’m missing something surely it has to be 7.30pm at the earliest?
Reason is there’s no lights in Nowlan Park and the potential of extra time and penalties, Kilkenny were due home advantage for last year’s Leinster Final and it got moved to Carlow due to this.
3rd world shit
This is the reality of the split season in action.
If this competition was played during its proper window in July, a 7.30pm start would be fine.
Clare v Limerick in the under 17s last week was 6 pm.
Same issue. Would ye be happier if these games were played in the dark?
