Hard to read much into the Wexford team as its only a challenge game but Mike Kelly full back seems an odd one or does he play there for the club? I thought he was a wing back?

County Secretary and Secretary of the CCC, Aoife Parle, said there has been a significant increase this year in the number of requests from clubs to have their championship fixtures arranged to avoid certain dates and/or times. It is simply not possible to grant them all, particularly with regard to fixtures for Round 5 group games, and the knock-out stages that will follow.

Unfortunately, there has been some instances of people involved with teams making abusive phone calls when a match was not fixed to their liking. All agreed this was unacceptable.

Leaving Cert holidays weakened a good few teams in July. Walkovers in the Junior A football and the likes.

I take it you haven’t read what happened Geraldine O’ Hanrahan’s (New Ross) in the Intermediate A football?

A soft enough piece on them. There is no way a town of that size shouldnt be fielding. I had to laugh at the “issues” urban teams have with playing numbers. Fuck sake. Should see how rural clubs are going with no one living there anymore. They have some players gone abroad? Show me a club who dont have 5 or 6 players gone abroad. Its also a quirk on it, that a load of their celebrated players werent even from Ross, including Tom Neville who only played for them as there was no club in Fethard at the time.

Would kids in Ross be more inclined to just play 1 sport than multiple sports? The soccer teams have no issue with player numbers and would always be competitive
