Wexford v Galway - All Ireland Senior Camogie Final

Straddled in between the hurling and football showpiece occasions is the big one - the senior camogie final in Croke Park this coming Sunday.

A repeat of last year’s final where Wexford were comfortable winners but Galway trounced Wexford in the group stages of the championship.

I really can’t call it but it should be a magnificent game and occasion.

Premium level tickets sorted Bandage?

Apparently Una Leacy and Catherine O’Loughlin are doubtful for this game but both are expected to make it.

Our intermediates are also in the final as well as far as I know.

I’ll have premium tickets all right Mac. Hope to see you there in your colours.

We play Antrim in the Intermediate.

Good stuff. Necking pints in the premium level is the only way I can make it through a few odd hours of camogie.

You should run a prediction thread on how many goals will be scored from high frees from over 35 yards out. I’d go with at least 2 in the first game, 1 in the intermediate and 1 in the final.

Instead of an up for the match preview is there an up for the snatch pic preview either of you could circulate?

Oh dear…

It shames all of us to have had this thread lingering back on page 3 or 4 of the board room.

Any team news or good preview pieces to read?

Wexford had a team song last year for the final. Anything this year?

As Ger Loughnane famously said, the first All Ireland is for the fans, the second is for the players. I’m sure the girls are too focussed this year to be worrying about songs or media coverage.

Alan Corcoran is devoting the first hour of his programme this morning to the All Ireland Finals.

The media night was last Thursday, September 1st, in Wexford Park. I’m sure a lot of the nationalist journalists have their pieces ready to go for the weekend’s papers arising from that.

Are you presuming loyalist journalists have no interest?

What a great bunch of girls we have.

National journalists too and not just nationalist ones.

The day has dawned. Smashing interview with Mags D’Arcy in the Sindo.

Galway dont do senior stick stick finals. Best wishes Wexford.

Thank you MBB.

Good luck to the Intermediate ladies too as we seek the double.

As Dave Guiney said this week, Wexford GAA should learn from the camogie set up.

Make no mistake, this will be tough. Galway will be angling for revenge from last year’s final. We also downed them in the league but they hammered us in the championship round robin section.

Stop Brenda Hanney and you stop Galway. It’s as fucking simple as that.

A tweet from one of Wexford’s favourite sportsmen and singers, Paul McGrath:

“Good luck to the Wexford camogie team today. On way to Croke park to cheer them on.”

The man just gets better and better

Ursula Jacob is a tasty bit of stuff.

“Catherine O’Loughlin does all the housekeeping around the square,” says one of the studio analysts.

Embarrassing shit here having a moment’s silence for some no mark Yanks who died ten years ago.
