It was me against boys at that stage, Wexford arenât equipped to beat Galway,
Cork at 100% will put it up to them but youâd expect the physicality of the Galway backs to slow them down, a rejuvenated Tipp are the only ones that Iâd give more than a fighting chance to, this years Galway are one of the best teams Iâve seen.
Very good post overall mate, but Iâd like to pick up on that single point. I did note an honesty to Galway when they were hit hard - there was no rolling around or play acting to get a man booked, and I was delighted to see it. Itâs important to be able to take those hits if youâre going to hand them out.
The damage Galway did in the middle third of the game finished Wexford off. It possibly ruined the game as a contest, but it made for a very relaxed and enjoyable last 15 mins for myself and Ironmoth Sr.
Itâs a great feeling to support a bunch of lads who do things with a touch of class, nothing worse than being put in a position to defend the indefensible, something that plenty of TFKers will be familiar with.
Then shur, youâd be down to about 6 topics with about 10 posts in each before the the thread is locked.
The likes of poor auld @Nembo_Kid , @Sidney and @anon7035031 would go straight into meltdown mode.
@sidney has a degenerative mental illness. It causes him to lash out like that, for no apparent reason. Hallucinations, delusions and paranoia are also an indication. Poor fella. He once stalked a girl all the way to Australia, but she called the cops and had him deported back here.
Thereâs something wonderful about getting up on the day of a big match, calling over to the home house for the fry, and heading to Dublin with the old man. As the man says, âitâs a little tradition of oursâ. The few pints in Gills with the Wexford lads, and of course the result, really put the icing on the cake of a great day OUT.
Eoin Larkin really has a made a fine journalist. Beautifully balanced article here on last Sundayâs game - doesnât engage in any of that negative talk we saw from TomĂĄs Mulcahy on the Sunday game. A must read for all Hurling fansâŚ
