Wexford vs Dublin LSHC Semi Final

:o

It’s ok mate, not everyone can grow up with a hurl in their hands. That’s the only way you can become a true exponent of the world’s most skillful sport.

Bogball on the other hand, I could pull 15 adults of the street anywhere in the world and have them playing football in a week. Not much to it really.

How does it? We are talking about 2 completely different games, 2 completely different skill sets, one doesn’t transfer to the other. How successful a person is at football is no reflection on how successful he will be at hurling. You may aswell compare it with golf.

We all know it requires more skill to play hurling but my point is about preference and the prestige of a hurling medal compared to a football one. Keaney could have stayed with the footballers and picked up a few handy all-Irelands. He jacked all that in however gambling on the less likely opportunity of winning a hurling medal.

It’s a pity Keaney can’t become as successful at it as he is at hurling despite choosing it over his “natural” sport. All his time and effort to gaelic football and he could never make the impact that has at hurling and this was when he put all his focus to gaelic football.

Skill? Keaney was not a skillful footballer, more a battering ram or physical presence and his lack of skills prevented from making a top class impact on gaelic football when it has not impacted in a similar nature on hurling.

Congratulations to Dublin

It’s true. In kilmallock the odd year we pick up a few young fellas from the cross and the chipper and can turn them into county minor winning sides. Meanwhile pure footballers like @TreatyStones look on in envy.

Kilkenny & Galway will be seething

Why didn’t Wexford break Keaney’s hand? Very un Wexford-like .

Too young and inexperienced

totally inaccurate as per usual…he left of his own accord you idiot…he came on as a sub against Cork in the all ireland semi final in his last appearance …keaney would ahve been considered the best club footballer in dublin around the time…how does your logic apply to paddy andrews with dublin winning in 2011 without him ??..
clueless…

You seem to be under the illusion that Keaney would have won a few All Irelands with Dublin. Better forwards came around so he probably wouldn’t have been involved, he gave the majority of his time and effort and prime years to football but couldn’t amount to more than a decent footballer and his main strengths were his physicality. Kind of blows your myth about hurling being more skillful. Hurling is an egg and spoon race being played by vicious muldoon thugs.

Stick to soccer @Il Bomber Destro , I think the majority of the forum (@Bandage excepted) will bow to your knowledge on that.

You’ve been found out when it comes to GAA however

Thanks for proving my point.

he actually was a skillful footballer…while strength is a huge part of his game he has a sweet left foot too…

time and time again…

Please do not compare football skills with hurling skills, the two games are chalk and cheese

Lads, remember this, Bomber has never held a hurl in his hand in his lifetime.

but he has a tv though…
