What do you usually get in the chipper?

There’s manys the bag of chips that’s fallen apart due to vinegar saturation

+1 Vinegar is the business, it does something special to a proper batter aswell.

My local chipper has just put a new menu in the door this very evening. Two additions that I can see straight off:

  1. Chip Buttie with Rasher and Cheese (€4.50)

Dear enough, never really had a chip buttie, worth a go?

  1. Buffalo chicken wings (€4.50)

Disappointed to see these on the menu. I like chicken wings but not from a chipper. Concentrate on the basics and a few fancy chips and I’ll be fine.

Also I note that their Fresh Atlantic Cod is supplied straight from the trawlers of Howth Harbour. Those poor fishermen have to sail all the way around the island with their Atlantic cod. You’d think they’d land it in Killybeggs or somewhere.

Chip butties are excellent, Rocko. I recommend you try one out with a bit of ketchup.

Buffalo chicken wings have no place in chippers.

You cant beat a fresh cod and chips. The anticipation of getting the feast is nearly as good as consuming it.

PS Dunph whats the works in donkey fords??

What do you mean by the works?
I know a lad who used to order ā€œthe menuā€ which was basically everything on the menu.

Chips, a fish, a burger, a battered burger, a batter sausage and a pie. I’m probably leaving something out.
