I usually get a fresh cod and chips but have been known to get a chicken fillet burger and chips or a curry chip and battered sausage.
I nearly always get the 1/4 pounder with cheese or if they have a bigger version I’d get that. Curry chip is a must but only from a select list of chippers. I get fish as often as I can, but again I can be choosy about where I get it as batters vary from shop to shop. I like my batter crispy and stuck to the fish, often you’d end up smashing the batter and the fish could drop out. Hate that.
Sometimes i can’t decide if i want a plain chip (with salt n vineger) or a curry chip. I am really fond of both and i have spent many minutes in chippers mulling over my decision.
why not get both bro? surely a man of your means & girth could handle it?
I often have, mate. Sometimes i’ll order one of them and after eating them will order the other and polish them off. I’m just trying to cut down now a bit, it’s not easy.
Have often done the same myself, I find if you wash it down with a diet coke instead of full fat, that it cancels out the extra calories consumed.
I don’t have a “usual” when it comes to the chipper.
I like to think I am adaptable and able to adjust to whatever situation may arise in the chipper.
A snack box is one of my firm favourites though.
When i’m in fuscos i usually get quater pounder and cheese and large chip onion rings and battered sausage and it never fails to please.
donkeys i usually get chip cod and battered sausages, exceptional.
I’m going to head into Donkeys at some stage this week for the works. I’ll report back.
Standard order for me is:
Taco fries
Plan quarter pounder with cheese
Battered sausage
Tin of 7up.
you won’t get any taco fries in donkeys
taco fries is hard to come by in any good chipper but while were on the fancy types of chips, a bacon and cheese chip is the business after a feed of pints.
Oh i don’t like taco fries at all, Rocko.
Very much in agreement.
Fuck off fury.
Ah that’s a shame Dunph. I’m new to them but they’re really growing on me. Maybe more for ordering in or bringing home than eating out. You wouldn’t be eating them out of the bag.
:o i was only letting you know the lie of the land in limeick you foreign fuck.
i’ve had bacon and cheese chips in limericks premier diner on a number of occasions and i concur, they are delicious.
I’ve found the best way to deal with this predicament is to get a plain chip and a curry dip on the side. The only drawback with this is that you don’t get the fully saturated effect that you get with the curry chips.
I’d be a bit like The Runt in that I’ll choose whatever tickles my fancy at the time of purchase. A chicken fillet is one of my favourites however
But would you want the salt n vinegar chips with curry? What if you decide half way through that you don’t want the curry and then you’re left with plain chips with no salt n vinegar.
I’d put the salt n vinegar on anyway. Not too much vinegar mind you
I like loads of vinegar and always request “extra vinegar”. When i was last in my favourite chipper in Dublin, Marsellas in Rathcoole, there so much vinegar in the bag it all bust out through the bottom and was pouring all over the place as i made to make my way for the exit. I was actually going to go back in and request more vinegar for the vinegar that had escaped…
