From a neutral’s perspective, definitely. I’d put the 2009 final and the drawn 2014 game as the two best games between the two of them. My favourite games between the two however were the 2010 and 1991 finals.
I was at the 2014 drawn game and while it was an entertaining spectacle I didn’t think it was as good as the 2009 or 2010 game. While there were some excellent scores taken in it and a great battle between Paul Murphy and Bonner I thought it was a loose enough game which lacked a bit of intensity which the 2009 game had. Tipp didn’t have to work awfully hard to reel in Klkenny’s lead in the second half.
Yeah, the standard in 09/10 + the intensity was unreal. I don’t think that’ll be matched in terms of actual quality. However, the 2014 drawn game probably had higher levels of excitement.
