What’s the difference in a sports jacket and a blazer

A blazer has metal buttons.

I’m just guessing a sports jacket is tweedy and workman like whereas a blazer has shiny buttons, a single colour fabric and is more formal.

Jack Charlton was a good man to wear both as such occasions arose.

I got a Parker Pen (Rollerball) from the school for finishing first in the fifth year exams. I anointed it my lucky pen and used it for every exam I did thereafter.

You don’t want to ever get accidentally seen by another forum member while wearing a sports jacket in public, the repercussions can be embarrassing.

I think a few Cross Pens where the consolation prize for families on Where in the World with Theresa Lowe. The then Sunday Tribune critic Gene Kerrigan used to refer to it as Why in the name of Jaysis?

Do tables in primary schools still have ink wells like in my day?

They did the last time I was in one.

They used quills in your time didn’t they……

The bould Thady

You won’t find too many Thadys these days. A sign of advancing years when I can recall Thady Turbett being a lifelong fixture in the Tyrone goals….

The biro was a wonderful boon for the peasants, let them feel like grown-ups i suppose

The ball point pen, you mean?

Not unlike Mossie. You won’t find a Mossie to be taken seriously anymore

My primary school principal in the school with the inkwells was Mr. Quill.
