Iā€™d wager that the vast majority of the people who are suddenly moaning about lack of attention on Yemen had never mentioned Yemen until after February 24th this year.

And Iā€™d bet even more of them wouldnā€™t be able to write 500 words about that war.

Good thing I donā€™t fall into that category.

Its okay to call out hypocracy on all sides.

There hasnt been one data centre approved to be built by this Government mate.

Any data centres being built or that has been approved to be built pre dates the Greens in Government

Speaking on RTƉā€™s Morning Ireland, she said the question that she would like to ask the Government is how many more data centres will be allowed to be built.

It follows a decision by Dublin City Council to grant planning permission to Collilers Properties, acting on behalf of Amazon Web Services, for two new data centres in Clonshaugh, Co Dublin.

The development will involve the construction of two data centre buildings, with a gross floor area of around 12,875 square metres and 1,455 square metres respectively, each over two storeys.

While Clare County Council recently granted planning permission for a new ā‚¬450m data centre campus in Ennis.

Councils can grant permission but eirgrid are not taking applications.

Glad to have cleared this up as its a common mistake that you have made.

The new Government Policy Statement on the role of Data Centres in Irelandā€™s Enterprise Strategy was published on Wednesday 27th July 2022 and the Ennis Campus is considered to align well with the policies set out therein.

Ok, ill double check my sources but unless eirgrid approve it, its not approved

Some backtrack

What is the attraction to allow these to be built anyway, they donā€™t provide any employment once opened
