In fairness to Radio 1 the non prime time presenters are generally the absolute finest, Creedon, Shay Byrne and Cathal Murray in particular have a great way about themselves

Fiachna is a good sort
He used to do Late Date some nights but gave it up.
Copper Faced Jacks is 30 years old this year. To mark the occasion Oliver Callan is shooting the breeze with presumably a middle aged D4 type (fort rather than fart) about her experiences there.
A grand wee tale until she launched into her memory of a shifty looking rural type who was continually lurking and perving outside the ladies jacks while winking and nodding at whom she presumed were his mates.
“Here” I said to myself, this has a familiar ring to it….

Lovely interview with FOTF Aodhán O’Riordáin on David McCulllagh this morning discussing the recent premature birth of his daughter.
I was dancing on tables at the 1st anniversary celebrations. Even at that stage it was ICONIC
I think it is widely accepted that radio in ireland is beyond bad bar maybe Creedon’s and Louise Duffys show. Where it it 100% about the music and not any banterific double dj nonsense.
The best of a very bad bunch of irish radio stations might be Radio Nova. But like so many other stations they have this Nova noise thing to keep simpletons from turning the dial and keep them guessing what this crytic noise is. Anyway i had to do a short trip there and hadnt time to put on spotify or a podcast. The Nova noise segment came on. Its going now nearly 3 years…3 fuckin years and nobody has gotten it right (of course they havent)! Some plonkers ringing in convinced they know what it is. I know its a prviate owned station and they rely ads for revenue and listeners but you would wonder what John Peel and the likes would think of it

Me missus says it’s the most inane radio station going. Their conversations go absolutely no where.
Id disagree with your missus but sure who knows. One mans music is another womans ráiméis.
