the chap who does the news at lunchtime has been blackguarded. i was a listener. he was the only newstalk presenter that just presented (the news) without forcing his personality on it, everything else in newstalk is personality first content second, even the sports have gone that way.

Hook had his missus on last week talking about Japanese knotweed, she sounds like a right cunt. A foreigner. Interesting that he put on the posh cork accent when talking to her.
Have to agree with that view. I have given up completely on the station and dont listen to any of the shows now. I guess they were getting similar feedback and altered the schedule, however the big turn-off will remain as the American style forcing of the presenter’s personality
Fuck sake. Jonathan Healy does the Lunchtime show and he is excellent, That morning show sounds awful even though I like Shane Coleman. What other options are good in the morning? I am not going back to Dempsey. Fucking hell, they’ve made a balls of this. Is this all because Yatesy is leaving?
Back to Morning Ireland for me.

Agree re Healy being shafted. Quinlan will be a bombscare. He gave a talk at a thing I was at a few years ago about leadership. All he needed to do was pull out a few rugby stories but he couldn’t manage it. He was like a rabbit in the headlights. Lost track of himself repeatedly and ended up apologising that he was so bad.
He fronted up joe hart style.

I’ve actually softened my stance on Hook in recent months. His show isn’t the worst and he’s pretty funny. I’d rather him to Chris Donoghue for my DriveTime listen.

I hate the way he pronounces certain words.
He pronounces all his tees properly, not the soft Irish tee.
Chris Donoghue said “how twee” in response to something Yates said a couple of weeks ago. I’ve only ever seen that here and it’s not the first time he’s repeated something I’ve read on here.
Id say he’s on here constantly never mind just lurking.

Johnathon Healy. Yeah he was excellent.
I had to stop listening to the breakfast show because of Chris, his political correctness would put Glas to shame. I listen to hook the odd time driving home, but there is no way I’ll be listening to those two.
Moncrieff is the only decent thing left on that station now. I think he’s a top top broadcaster.
Jesus I’ll have to listen to Radio 1 now for all my radio, I’m becoming one of those people
