I really like the Colm And Lucy Breakfast Show on Radio Nova. It brightens my mornings when I drive to work. I like how awake they sound and they help kickstand my day.
Lucy Kennedy is a really funny and talented woman. In retrospect the Podge and Rodge show wasn’t the right forum for her. Also on radio her nose is less of a distraction. Colm Hayes is a genuinely funny person. He’s one of the big players at Radio Nova and one of the most influential men on Irish radio. They were the two most talented people on RTE but Radio Nova offered them more money.
I really like the chemistry between them. I honestly feel like I’m listening to nice people whose company I would enjoy, in contrast with RTE or Today FM morning radio where I feel like I’m listening to hateful wankers that I would despise. Colm and Lucy seem more real. The music is also slightly better.
Although I know that Limerick posters can’t get Radio Nova I recommend The Colm And Lucy Breakfast Show to anyone who can get it.
Really Tank? Really??? Please say this is some sort of fucking sick joke. This is the epitome of shit horrendous radio to me. Both of them are forced as fuck. The matesy stuff is all forced and he is a complete gimp in how he goes on. His pretend stupidity, his fake enthusiasm. I’d turned them off almost as soon as they started (heard them a few times in their first few weeks). I’ve tuned in a bit recently because I wanted to win the nova noise cash(I was convinced it was the sound of a can falling in a vending machine but I was wrong). I like Lucy Kennedy, but I can’t stand this shit morning show.
Monaghan people were close to an all-time haigh (sic) in my ratings for a few hours but now you’ve dropped again.

Lucy Kennedy is an a very nice lady. I was worried when she took a few weeks off during the summer but shes back now.
I like when Colm Hayes talks about his little daughter. Today he was telling about how she has discovered “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” all by herself. It was very touching.
They are much more genuine than anyone on RTE or Today FM breakfast time. She calls him “Hayesy”. I would guarantee that they quite like each other.
They are a fuck lot better than Lottie Ryan or Dermot and Dave or whatever bollocks.
I propose that a couple of tfk volunteers who you could trust listen in to this and give us a verdict. Comparing them to shite doesn’t make them good.

I always get Colm and Jim Jim mixed up. Is Colm the older lad with glasses and scraggy grey hair or the younger, fatter lad with black hair? I recall Colm being in the RTE 10 highest earners a few years ago. His annual salary was completely obscene and in the hundreds of thousands for essentially being the wacky, zany breakfast DJ guy.

I used to be in a gym where Colm Hayes was also a member. I would see him regularly enough there and see and hear him talking. It was only when I heard him talking while my back was turned that I realised he was on the radio. Funny how the (my) brain works.
His real life personality was not as jovial as his on air personality. I suppose that’s Hollywood for ya.

He’s an excellent broadcaster. Polished yet jovial.
I’d be stood there in the changing room drying my balls with the hair dryer and he did not look one bit jovial at all.
As I left one day I saw him at reception. The following week I arrive in to find “hairdryers are for drying your head only” signs up. I’ll never know it was him for certain but I have my suspicions.
