You skipped the vaccine queue. You are off travelling ASAP. Now demanding the AIF is full attendance to no doubt improve your own chances of getting a ticket should Limerick get there…
Me, me, me indeed.

What do you mean soon. I’ve been off travelling already.
No surprise really.
Level 3 brought back into the costa del sol last week I see…numbers rising…
State of emergency in Tokyo
Lads don’t want to know… Fingers in ears and screaming like 2 year olds wanting their own way.
What rules are being broken?
I never said any were other than being a responsible adult with a conscience and a degree of care for wider society.
So none? Just the moral high ground at stake so.
Fair enough. Can see differing views on it.
No one mentioned anything about rules… Covid numbers rising in holiday spots all over the world and countries are upping restrictions not easing them… it’s fairly easy join the dots.
I’d imagine the dots will lead to restrictions so. Better get that travel in fast…
I know this thread is aimed at ballhoppery but I’ll add some colour to things. I’m back in Wexford after 4 weeks in Lanzarote (cc @Raylan). We chose to go away for most of July for a variety of reasons I won’t bore the forum with but as a family we’ve had a very rough 2021 and felt we needed to get out of Ireland and the constant negativity and fear mongering.
When we arrived in Lanzarote there was less than 50 active cases on the island and no-one in hospital. We stayed around Puerto Del Carmen and the place was half empty. Restaurants had proper spacing and made you sanitise your hands before sitting down. Shops went berserk if you even attempt to get in without a mask. It was genuinely safer than anything I’ve seen in Ireland. This is an island where police flew drones over apartment complexes and pools during lockdowns to make sure noone was breaching things.
Noone spoke of Covid. The only time it came up was when we mentioned it. We watched Spanish and local news the odd time and there wasn’t a mention of Covid or cases. Everything was positive and there wasn’t an ounce of fear. There was lots of Spanish and Scandinavian tourists about.
Over the last 2 weeks since the 19th there was a noticeable pick up in people. Loads of Irish and English. Restaurants had queues outside them due to having less tables and capacity. Indoor dining was full. If you attempted to move around without a mask inside you’d get roared at by staff.
There was about 50 people on our flight out on July 3rd and almost a full flight home today. Ryanair and Airport staff on both sides were ruthless with their checks with many folks turned away in the check in queue this morning for not having the right type of PCR test or not having the right paperwork. Air hostesses on today’s flights were ruthless in telling people to keep masks on. You couldn’t queue for the toilets and had to get the thumbs up from crew to go. A small sacrifice to pay to get away.
Did we break rules? Yes. Do I have any regrets? Not a single one. We went to a safer place in a well controlled environment and had much needed time as a family away from negativity, and scare mongering. It was almost like covid didn’t exist and everything was normal apart from wearing masks.
We decided to post as little as we could on Social Media primarily due to the reaction we expected from the curtain twitchers (& @Raylan ) who’ve been scared under the bed and never come back out. Today, I think there’s around 100 active cases in Lanzarote with either 1 or 2 people in hospital. The cases and hospital numbers in Ireland have both gone up by 100% in the time we were away.
Go and fly to fuck and enjoy yourselves. Life is short enough to be hiding under the bed.
You selfish cunt… Me, me, me, me…
Good for you Mac. Absolute right thing to do and no harm to anyone and anyone saying otherwise is talking complete bullshit.
I thought you were an OIUTF merchant?
Exactly. Like Davy Fitz
Of course I am… But not for idiots making reckless, selfish, stupid choices
Ah I get you. Sorry. OIUTFFMAMF
For me personally, I won’t travel abroad until this bullshit is over re covid certs and testing.
Could be waiting a few years I reckon.
We conciously went to Portugal last October knowing this shit was coming.
