Where are they now?

A fine looking girl in her day.

Waterford’s finest

We were lucky to have her.

She is in RTÉ drama Smother.

I dont know I’d suspect that a lot of young presenter types go into production and directing behind the camera once their looks start to fade.

Here sham, wasn’t there a murder in Waterford we’d all remember, a bus driver maybe? But he got off? Dumped (his wife’s?) body in the river?

He was the only suspect but beat the rap…

I’m light on detail but you might fill in the blanks.

Where is he now?

That’s it… good man @anon76546466

Was there a feeling locally that the guards fucked this up, what with all the forensics, motive, lack of alibi etc.?

Did he go back driving the bus again after? I vaguely remember a drunken run-down on it I received from a Waterford man at the time and it seemed like a open goal that wasn’t scored by the Guardians of Peace.

He went back to driving the bus (Bus Eireann, not Kenneallys). He used to get some doing driving it in the evenings when gangs of young lads would launch into song “where is Meg Walsh gone” , etc. Not sure if he’s still behind the wheel.

Was managing a bar in NYC in 2019, Hurleys just off Time Square. Last I heard he was working in a pub in Navan.

Sue Gray. I remember years ago she was supposed to be writing a report about Boris Johnson throwing a load of parties during lockdown. The press were breathless about how the report was about to be published and how it would bring down Johnson. Then everybody suddenly forgot about the whole thing and it was never mentioned again.

there was a phenomenal piece of writing in the Indo when Lockdown1 ended and folk went back to restauraunts.
They ran a wonderful feature on Gerard and his solo trip to i believe Dax- i recall him resquesting his chips to be cooked in duck fat

this is brilliant @Julio_Geordio

As always, Gerald Kean is in ebullient form, showering compliments like confetti over the waiter and me. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find anyone in Dublin who has seen him any other way.

We had originally planned to meet in Dax restaurant, close to his office, but the opening hours didn’t quite fit his schedule so I inform the PR woman that we will have to pick an alternative venue.

She replies some time later to say that Gerald says “Dax will open for him”. So I put in a call and drop his name. Unfortunately, they won’t.

So here we are — in Peploe’s on St Stephen’s Green — to talk about his latest stint on a reality TV show: Operation Transformation.

Today he orders a spread of lamb kidneys, pommery mustard sauce and toasted brioche — to start — before moving on to a marrow crumb crust dry aged Irish sirloin steak and peppercorn sauce with a side of duck fat chips. It’s all washed down with two glasses of Chateau de Monteberiot.

I read that in my mind in a Gerry Thornley voice.

It’s my second favourite opening to an article after the Vincent Browne one on that judge.
