Another thing about Kelly and Collins is that they played a lot of their games being totally unmarked and when they were marked tightly they were ineffective

Yeah I’d agree with you there. But when they were tightly marked it created space for their team mates who more than picked up the slack, like McGrath in the replay. While Collins didnt have as much direct impact in the replay his runs off the ball dragged out defenders and created the space for at least one of the goals.
