The only reason this is getting headlines is Taylor Swift. It is busy most weekends in summer in Dublin.

The truth is that if Taylor Swift was to play elsewhere in Ireland, ideally it would be Belfast.

I’m trying to think of a previous occasion when Croke Park was filled for something like an All-Ireland football semi-final and Lansdowne Road was filled for something like U2’s PopMart on the same day, but I can’t think of anything.
Didn’t it happen with the navy game recently ?
There was an American college football game in Croke Park the day before the Dublin-Donegal semi-final in 2014 anyway.
Bruce Springsteen at the RDS in 2009 was on the same day as the Dublin-Kildare Leinster football final which drew 82k.
Few big race meetings in the Leop clashed with all Ireland replays and it’s invariably a disaster.
It’s a pure joke that Taylor Swift isn’t playing Loughrea this weekend.
