Sectarianism in Scotland predates soccer. There were more anti Catholic organisations in Scotland than actual Catholics before the wave of Irish immigration. Thatâs how bigoted the traditional Scottish society is. Blaming the modern manifestations of that bigotry on soccer is a convenient excuse for Scotland. It lays the blame nice and equally and glosses over the anti Irish and anti Catholic attitudes still so prevalent.
Anyone with an ounce of education and/or knowledge of Irish history realises this Rocko.

Would die hard nationalists not concede amhrainn na bfhiann for a neutral anthem for a united Ireland?
Genuine questions btw.[/QUOTE]
Not if it meant replacing it with Irelandâs call, no fucking way.
There are only about 5 National Anthems worth giving a fuck about, I never saw the big deal about them myself. Irelandâs Call is a fucking dirge but most National Anthems are. Not a reason to rail against a united Ireland IMHO.
It sounds like it was written by a six year old and could only genuinely be enjoyed by people with the mentality of a six year old. AbrhĂĄn na bhFiann is on a different level musically with itâs sombre beginning to a gradual build-up of tension and melody to a powerful crescendo. Itâs a fine anthem and worth giving a fuck about, the other thing is an embarrassment quite frankly.

Sizeable amount of folk who moan about Irelandâs Call donât really care about having All Ireland team imo. Some would probably rather flag was green, white and gold too.
You know that is a straw man. So does rocko. Neither of you is that thick. No point debating if that is the level. Fuxake. I have been well educated.
Gold?
What the fuck are you on about?
My aunt used do tour guides around Scotland back in the 70âs. She often had to change her name and her accent at guest houses that signs saying âno blacks, no dogs, no Irish.â
Heâs saying that a lot of republicans are not really republican at all and have no interest in accommodating Protestants or Orangemen in a united Ireland. For a good number of years the Irish flag was almost changed by default to green white and gold in what seems to have been an airbrushing of the orange part and the flagâs original purpose as a representation of peace between the two communities. Fairly fucking obvious I would have thought.
What accent did she put on?
BBC British.
What a tramp.
Iâll tramp-le your face into fucking floor
Anyone hear Michael Corcoranâs interview with Joe Schmidt earlier?
Yeah, I was glued to it, Macintosh
As you know well from reading here mate, thereâs no alternative options other than listening to rugby coverage on the radio so I was forced to listen to it.
