Wild Mushrooms

And puffballs, of course.

Aka horses fart.

Well, an offputting phrase, if not a Kilkenny one. But they are plenty nice sliced, dipped in egg, crumbed and fried.

A common phrase, not of Tipperary origin, for when they turn brown and are full of spores (not edible), stand on one to understand why.

Often stood on one in younger days…

Never heard that phrase, to be honest.

Derrynahinch mushrooms. Pure delicious…

Ah ffs :joy:

Some of them look suspiciously shop bought.

Productive evening yesterday before it started lashing

Jaysus. How will you get through all them? Will some be cooked or made into soup and frozen?

He’s bartering them for quality whiskey.

A dirty auld fungus for premium whiskey seems like a good deal.

How am I fixed to throw these 2 lovely red mushrooms on the pan lads?

For you or the wife?

The rule with mushrooms is eat first, ask questions later

Looks like a boletus (maybe Smith’s boletus). But I would not advise eating them – unless you show them to an expert and he or she says they are fine.

They’re fine eat away.

There’s no expert in the world that would convince me to eat a Red Mushroom mate.

Magic mushrooms. Preserve them in honey.
