the lying little shit should be hounded out of dail eireann immediately. it’s unbelievable that a barrister andlecturer in law, not to mention a member of the dail could lie on oath and then say it was no biggie
he was given chances to admit and possibly have it as mistake, but he only corrected it months afterwards when the reporter played the tape to him
fair play to Inda for bringing a motion of no confidence in him, but it should have been brought a year ago when he lied about dell and also the 5000 jobs he wassupposedly bringing in
if the brits can send archer and aiken to jail for lying on oath why can’t we send this little funeral attender to chokie too ?
to be honest WTB, i’m so disillusioned with the lack of morality in public office i believe that he will ride it out, he sholdn’t of course
the other annoying thing is that the minister of justice said that it was disgusting that fine gael were pursuing him about this. the minister for justice is saying that it’s ok to lie on affidavit if you’re a FFer.
tis nearly tie for the pitchforks and torches and storming of the barricades
be interesting to see what his constitutents have to think, but i can have a good stab at what HBV would say
its funny you might find it unbelievable based on Willies background and education in law, especially given that the legal profession and its self regulated governing body is and has been rotten to the core since time began.
as the old folk would say… he didnt lick it off the ground.
no allegedly about it, he said several times that yerman was running a brothel, then denied ever saying it
In the Limerick Chronicle on March 10th last year, Mr O’Dea responded to criticism by Mr Quinlivan of the high cost of having six civil servants working for the Minister on constituency matters.
“I suppose I’m going a bit too far when I say this, but I would like to ask Mr Quinlivan is the brothel still closed,” the article quoted Mr O’Dea as saying.
In other sections of the recording, which did not appear in the article, Mr O’Dea elaborated on his claim: “Do you know the brothel they found in his name and in his brother’s name down in Clancy Strand?” he asked journalist Mike Dwane.
He continued: “There was a house owned by him that was rented out and they found two ladies of the night operating in there in the last couple of weeks.”
Mr Quinlivan brought proceedings against Mr O’Dea. In an affidavit sworn on April 14th, Mr O’Dea stated: “I most categorically and emphatically deny that I said to Mr Dwane that the plaintiff was the owner of the said apartment,” he said. However, when the recording was produced, Mr O’Dea withdrew the affidavi
and HB, lying and cheating may be endemic in politics and law, but it doesn’t make it ok, and if you get caught, then you pay the price
true, and in the grand traditions of the Law Society and its self regulation when dealing with their thieves and liars, a small fine and a gentle kick in the arse should suffice before letting them on their way.
why should Willie be treated any different?
He misled a High Court judge into refusing the injunction at a crucial time coming up to a local election in Limerick. Quinlivan had to fight that election with a false allegation hanging over him. It was assumed that because Quinlivan had been unsuccessful with the injunction application that the allegations were therefore true.
Willie is no more telling the truth about this being an honest mistake than the man on the moon. He shoudl be fired on the spot and it should have been done months ago.
Willie O’Dea is a liar, now we have a record of him lying under oath too.
Just heard the tape where O’Dea makes the claims. Find it very hard to believe he forgot saying it. Was quite the rant with usual bull put about regarding Northern Bank etc and then comes out with the claims regarding brothel which he repeats.
Eh because he’s in government. I couldn’t give a fuck about him being a lawyer, he should know better, but it has nothing to do with this. He’s a government minister and he lied in court.
He’s one of the best politicians in the country Puke. FF would love to have him. In fact the way idiots in this country vote i wish he was in FF, because he’d be in government, and he could use himself to better the country.
We have too many parties and too a complicated system for a country that is so small.
O’Dea will be gone very soon.
Listening to the audio again and really annoys me the way FF go on moralising about SF’s activities in Ireland (some of which is completely unproven) while at same time they glorify those republicans of the past and act as if they are the true modern day republicans. A joke.
