The screeching out of the centre court crowd when thereās an extended rally is extremely irritating
Nadal in big bother now.
Nadal is done here. Heās just so flat.
Nadal gone again in the first week of Wimbledon. Brown was unreal.
Scale of the Nadal decline is such that it doesnāt register as that big a surprise.
Great to see some old fashioned serve and volley.
Nadal canāt cut it on the biggest stage of all, it is as simple as that
Is Nadalās decline coming quicker than Federer?
Depends on how you classify decline. Federer has declined somewhat from winning 12 Grand Slams out of the 18 up to his win at the 2010 Australian Open. If he doesnāt lift the trophy on July 12, heāll have only won 1 out of the 18 Grand Slams since Australia 2010.
Federer (apart from some back trouble) has had a largely injury free career and still has the game to overcome almost all bar the very top players, well into his 30ās. The attritional nature of Nadalās game is taking its toll on him now. Winning the French up until this year somewhat masked the fact that his game has been in decline for a few years now. His confidence has been absolutely shot the last 12 months and heās liable to lose to just about anyone he faces.
I agree with that. I know Federer can be beaten especially after he plays a 5 set match the previous match. In saying that he will usually go into the second week in the majors.
Nadal on the other hand just seems shot. Mcenroe was saying on commentary that he expects nadal to come back and win some more majors. I just canāt see it at the moment. There is a bit of a break now before the hard court season begins so it will interesting to see what form Nadal is in coming into that part of the season. If he is still in the same form as he is now I canāt see him recovering from it for next season.
Agree

I think the reason McEnroe said that is because Nadalās problem right now seems to be psychological. I always thought when he would go it would be when his body gives out on him but itās his tennis that is the problem now. He is missing shots he would never miss, the greatest forehand in the game has disappeared, the amount of simple unforced errors he has made the past 6 months is startling.
At his age and the problems heās had with injuries over the years make it unlikely he can return to the top but the one thing to cling onto is that what we have seen over the past 6 months is far removed from the what we saw of Nadal throughout his career. It looks to be confidence more than anything else, he doesnāt seem to be worse off physically than say two years ago.
Heās the greatest tennis player Iāve ever seen. The peopleās champion.
Sad to see the greatest tennis player Iāve seen be in such decline
Yes, but the psychological problems are most likely linked to the body failing. The biggest single problem in his game is his first serve. Its difficult to see him get it together again. In tennis terms 29, when youāve been more or less at the top since 19 is old.
Serving has always been a weakness, itās became even more of an issue now however. Itās the one part of his game where he couldnāt match his competitors.
Federer has been in decline for quite a while now
Nadal is the greatest, Federer had a headstart in a weaker era.
Can people please stop comparing the Greatest with the arse picker
Itās like comparing Messi with somebody like Totti ffs sake
