First impressions?
I really like it. Looks slick. Edge browser seems decent (though not sure I’ll give up on chrome). Start menu is good balance between tiles and old menu and the desktop is as it ever was. A tentative thumbs up from me.

is it much different to Windows 8.1?
Not hugely.
Start menu is where your tiles are now, instead of being a separate screen.
This is what it looks like:
I do like the fact it’s a free upgrade
I’ve had preview version on a work laptop very a few months. A big improvement on Windows 8 (which wasn’t actually that bad once you got used to it).
What’s the story with this? Will it be an automatic upgrade at some stage or do you have to do something to get it? Running windows 8 at the moment so I think this upgrade is free
Do you have a little windows icon in your taskbar? If you do, click on that.
No that’s not appearing on my taskbar for some reason. I had a google earlier and came up with that alright but didn’t search any harder.
Do you have automatic updates turned on?
Look at your PC Settings and then at Update and Recovery.
Yes, windows set to upgrade automatically. I’m currently running windows 8.1. I hadn’t ticked the box to upgrade other Microsoft products automatically when upgrading windows. I’ve done that now so I’ll see if anything appears in the next few days
Have you the internet pal?
Aren’t we talking two different operating systems here. Surely you can’t just update without loosing everything?
Nah you lose nothing.
I have a serious problem with Win8.1 - My Outlook won’t open attachments. Tried everything, with the best advice is to reload Win8.1 from scratch and then reload everything else, and hope it works.
I wonder if I upgraded to Win10 would it sort my Outlook problem?
What’s the pagination situation on Windows 10
It may do. I’ve no idea why reinstalling the OS would be required to fix Outlook but it makes all sorts of sense to upgrade anyway.
It’s something to do with the way Outlook previews and opens attachments in other programs like Word/Excel and PDFs, photos and the like. It seems to be common enough with no fix. I’ve gone in deep a few times, but they were before Win10. So might be time for some more research. Very annoying problem!
You need to click on them mate. You are welcome.
With all due respect you wouldn’t be renowned as the best judge of software packages. I’ll wait for the definitive review from @Horsebox and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy.
Initial impression is that I preferred window 8.1. I liked the tiles and preferred swiping between screens. This site looks a lot better on Windows 10 though.
On a different browser?
