Stocked up there in Auchan in Cherbourg
There’s an Italian Zinfandel in Aldi at the moment for a tenner. Would blow the head off you
Serious value to be had in superquinns French wine sale
Zinfandel would be called Primitivo in Italy.
Yes it’s the same grape but they labelled it Zinfandel for the plebs
Fair enough. Not like the Italians to dumb it down.
They are related but not the same varietal, Zinfandel is a Californian grape that originated in Croatia. Primitivo came from the same parent so they are sisters.
Any sign of Denzel or the Trotter brothers …*
- for the day is in it…
Pinot Noir is the most difficult grape to make good wine with and a lot of cheap Pinot is shite. It’s definitely a varietal that you need to be spending a bit of money to get a decent wine, but there’s good value in Oregon and Santa Barbara here and NZ makes some smashing values. I’d also look outside Marlborough, Otago apparently is the best region.
I’ve had some lovely NZ Pinot.
Man o War Dreadnought is one of my favourite wines.
This one above was just awful. I’ve not had a wine for a good while that had to be ditched like that
Having this tonight - a cotes de nuit Pinot noir. Got it via WineSpark cc @TheUlteriorMotive and I’d strongly recommend. They have a South African Pinot noir which is excellent too.
How do you find wine spark? How much wine do you drink? I’m sure it must get you much better quality than buying in a supermarket but I don’t think I’d go through enough wine to get value from it.
A proper Pinot, what did you pay for it? it’s around $55 here but hard to find.
