With rent increasing is now the time to buy a 2nd property from the bank

The government have failed…no wonder everyone is far right.

Property is theft

1970 or thereabouts I’d say.

Worth a few bob now

Banning property sales to non-residents, or introuducing a super high non-resident tax on residential property, or introducing and enforcing humane rental legislation or ideally a mix of all three would nearly half-carry a party to election victory, one would imagine. You’d get the young who can’t afford a mortgage. low paid workers, parents who havn’t the means to gift their children deposits. The only people you’d piss off would be vulture funds and the landlords of this country (the brits gave us enough of them, find another source of passive income that doesn’t fuck your fellow citizens).

Just as sinn fein has figured out that housing is their pathway to power.

I remember years ago, around Bertie-time seeing the declared property portfolios of sitting TDs. It was nauseating.

The standard of renting stock is shite in Ireland outside the brand new stuff as tax write offs over 8 years don’t incentivise private landlords to sirens more than bare minimum on upgrades/refurb.

Air B&B rates are absolutely mental meanwhile.
You could retire a rich person of wan decent place.

Fionnbarra on X: “Front page of Irish Times today. The article inside forecasts 35k new homes to be built in 2024. That’s 68k in 24 months. At say 3 people per new home, that’s housing for 200k people in just two years. We need to do more but things are really moving now. ⁦@DarraghOBrienTD⁩ https://t.co/TZsuJehf48” / X (twitter.com)

Wow, 15% of new houses have substandard workmanship because builders have been given incentives to hire foreigners. Some alarming facts right there to consider.
