I presume he said something like “I can’t countenance playing x games in y days” Think it just means he can’t approve of it.

The oul lad went in for his vaccine, he said that, apart from himself it was all old dottery people- half of them had to be oxtercogged in…ie held under their arms to help them in and out of the chair etc.
