Working part of the week from home

Question for the city boys- if u got to work from home 2 days a week, down the country, what’s the best way to work accommodation for the 2 nights you have to spend in Dublin ?

Rent or buy somewhere. Failing that stay with a friend or sleep on the street.

You’d be as well off in a hotel-that’s what a lad who works with me does. Around €40 per night for hotels around Tallaght and Red Cow and you will save paying rent if you’re on holidays or working away or whatever. Depends where you’re working too.

Where you working?

South co Dublin, on the end of the m50- hotel, b&b is probable best?

If you decide to go down the lodging route, remember to mention that you hate chess. Just drop that in somewhere.

Check B&B’s and try get a regular rate off them.

Airbnb often have decent midweek deals too. Or if you’ve mates with a spare room who don’t mind you staying then that’s the handiest.

Two nights a week in a B&B sounds horrible. Have you any friend with a spare room you could come to an arrangement with? Few bob for them without much imposition and saves you renting a place.

Hotel all the way. Plenty of cheap Monday & Tuesday night offers to be found. Can chill and do your own thing in the evenings rather than relying on a pal or bean an ti.

@Fagan O’Dowd’s house is free at the moment if you just want to crash there.

Have a look at Stillorgan Park Hotel or Bewleys in Leopardstown and see if they would do you a regular ‘corporate’ rate. There’s not much south of them that isn’t in north wicklow. You could have a look around Bray or somewhere like Enniskerry. Other alternative would be one of those cheap hotels in Tallaght or Citywest but you’d be as well in Wexford as one of them.

agreed
a B&B, that’s absolutely disgusting

At my age all the lads have kids!!

Linton Travel Tavern. Possibly equidistant between Dublin and wherever you live.

Watched this series over Christmas. Fantastic.

It never gets old.

Still to see the film, actually.

Anyway, it’s time to say “bonjour!” to Mr. Dave Clifton…

.

Mattress in the back of a commercial van. Jog to work and shower there… go dogging in the evenings to pass the time.
