Carey finishes in a disappointing 6th.
Very poor crowds at the Luzhniki Stadium…It’s emptier than a Russian Gay Bar.
Somali Athlete, Mo Farrah, going now in the 10,000 M

No need. You have the championships, the year, the venue and the attendance all in the title. Good job
What a last lap from Mo Farah in the 10,000M. The Somalian adds the World Title to his Olympic gold.
Another unforgettable night for British distance running as Mohammed Farah wins his first 10,000 metres world championship.
signing in for Eurosport’s coverage
for lads not getting much sex they could do worse then tune in to this some evening especially if the women’s high jump or 400m is on to get something going for a quick ham shank.
100m heats for men up now, yer man Nesta Carter just strolled in but is surely juiced up
stadium looks as empty as croke park on all ireland semi final day but in fairness it is massive and id say you’d have maybe 35k ish now
Eurosport’s coverage is top notch BTW
Cheers for the Eurosport reminder Mickee. Sick of that fucking Gabby Logan on BBC. Disgraceful that RTE are not showing this.
lovely to see Dwain Chambers and Justin Gatlin take their places at the blocks for heat 3 of the 100m after honourably serving their various suspensions. presumably there was no reek of Jameson from their urine when it was tested
the excellent Tim Hutchings here on Eurosport who can translate many different foreign languages to english is very downbeat here about the whole 100m, I mean we know Gatlin (twice) and Chambers got done for doping but its almost they are resigned to the fact here that many more are…
Christope Lemaitre is incredibly skinny for a sprinter, but i suppose he’s probably using EPO instaed of some anabolic
Ha, ‘Brit’ Dasaolu has possibly missed out on a place in the 100M semi finals after easing up before the line.
Samuel Francis of Qatar comes third in his heat…
im turning this off
Nothing really to get excited about this year unless Bolt breaks a world record. Rudisha and the delectable Jessica are injured. Rob Heffernan our only proper contender. It would be great to see him get a medal after coming very close a few times. Comes across as an alright sort. The other few half decent Irish athletes are either injured, resting, retired, appearing on Celebrity Masterchef or refocusing on their medical studies (Cuddihy and Hession). From what I gather we’ll do well to have one athlete make it out of a heat.
Bump. Only thing worth watching the 100m final on at 6:50pm
I believe some Russian lad who’s the world or Olympic champion has pulled out so Heffernan surely has a great chance. Nice piece on him yesterday by Ian O’Riordan.
Seems to be a fair few Russians who suddenly developed injuries. Better excuse than a motorbike accident the night before the games begin anyway, I suppose.
9.78 in the rain
Thunderbolt
I’d say Lemaitre was the only clean athlete in that race.
I believe in Bolt.
