Colombia not near as good as Chile despite having beaten them in qualifying
Their absolute refusal to do any preparation is no longer quaint. Spoofers although Giles can still call a game in play.
Didi is different Class.
I’m very sorry for Uruguay, a country of 3m people up against Colombia a country of 47m people. I just don’t know, Bill.
Probably but change is well overdue now.
Dunphy’s knowledge, outside of the main players and teams, is fairly poor. He’s good for a laugh but making outlandish comments doesn’t paper over the cracks.
Been surprised at how Cunningham, Sadlier and Hamann have actually been decent enough.
SBS referred to James Rodriguez’s goal as merely “one of the goals of the World Cup”. But definitely not the goal of the World Cup. That still belongs to Tim Kayhill.
Did Irish media try to deny Marco van Basten’s volley in 1988 was better than Ronnie Whelan’s?

Cunningham is an utter pro and seriously knowledgeable even if it’s Dundalk v Limerick in the LOI. He’s a credit to his new profession.
John calling Robben “Van Robben” all through half time
Dunphy corrects Liam who believes Sampras has been very good for the Greeks
Dunphy claiming credit for tipping Athletico to win the Champions League. Liam puts him in his box telling him they didn’t win it.
Dunphy tips the dutch to win it out. Only to remember that he had written them off 5 mins earlier
Would any other broadcaster put up with a few half cut auld fellas on the panel?
I see Brazilian legend Colin The Gooch Coopinho has now joined the World Cup panel
A shimmering what in the sky Stephen? Fucking hell…
Alkin is having an absolute nightmare here. Valbuena apparently hitting corners and managing to get over to the edge of the box to have shots from them too.
Ronnie Whelan nearly crying about Suarez there
I was bawling when I read the exchange between himself and Chiellini

No Ronnie was very angry with Suarez when it was implied that he apologised just because Barcelona told him to
He referred to Nigeria first making the last 16 stage in 1994 where they lost to eventual champions Italy.
About two sentences later he said France had not lost at the last 16 stage since losing to Austria 90 years ago in the 1934 finals.
