World Cup 2014

Earlier on in the night Costa Rica, who had already qualified, rolled over and let Honduras win.
The Hondurans are now in the driving seat for 3rd automatic qualifying spot, 3pts ahead of Mexico, even if the Mexicans win tonight. They finish up with a game against the hopeless Jamaicans on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Mexicans must travel to San Jose, which has been a veritable fortress for the Costa Ricans, who would love nothing better than to stick it to the Mexicans.

Holy shit.
Panama just equalised in the Azteca.

MOTHERFUCKER!!!
Giminez with the goal of the year, bicycle kick, to put the Mexicans back in front. Absolute stunner!
… the 120,000 in the Azteca have gone ape shit.

4 minutes injury time and the Panamanians piling it on.

Mejico wins
Jesus, you’d think they had just won the World Cup.
So strange, this would have been a routine win in the Azteca for Mexican teams of the past.

Just saw this goal now. Fantastic, had to make it for himself

I see Australia have sacked their manager after back to back 6-0 defeats to Brazil and France.

Colombia qualified for the World Cup last night.

A bit like Rivaldo’s one against Valencia from years ago

Great finish but what what an utterly abysmal first touch, he was receiving a ball to feet unmarked on the penalty area and he managed to make the chance very difficult for himself.

On another note, where is Efrain Juarez at these days? Is he still getting a game for Mexico?

I’ve always been fascinated by Hungary.

Puskas, their tonking of England, them being in Ireland’s group for WC90 qualifying, and then latterly, a Magyar mistress and a deep and profound admiration for their prolific output of pornographic actresses.

So, I always look out for their results.

While I appreciate they got hammered by Holland last night, they play Andorra at home on Tuesday and can finish on 17 points. Romania, on 16, have to play Estonia at home, which I know they’ll probably win, but you never know, while Turkey, also on 16, have to play Holland, who will undoubtedly be looking to outscore each other again, if possible.

And the Hungary manager has resigned. Seems a bit bizarre that. At worst they’ll most likely finish 3rd, a point behind the Romanians.

Lovely moment there in the Netherlands Hungary game there where Van Persie and Kluivert embraced. Not often you see two alleged rapists hugging on the telly.

Very naive defending by the Ethiopians cost them a winning position in Addis Ababa today. Nigeria look certs to go through now leading 2-1 and facing into the home leg.

Play off draw prediction:
France v Portugal
Sweden v Croatia
Romania v Ukraine
Iceland v Greece

Actual draw…

Portugal v Sweden

No Ronaldo, or no Zlatan, what a scenario we have.

Unlucky Sid.

Romania getting a softish draw doesn’t suit us. I think we need them to lose both games to get a second seeding
