The global nature of football will always mean it’s more popular than rugby. The rugby lads have awful difficulty accepting this.

Rugby needs someone to bang the drum for their sport

Not correct.

You mean the European dominated soccer. The rugby World Cup is a truly global tournament.

At the next Rugby World Cup Oceania will have 4 teams. Oceania has a population of 40 million or 0.5% of the world’s population. 0.5% has 20% representation. Care to explain why representation is so lopsided?
.

The population of South America is 422m and the population of Europe is 740m, approx 14% of the global population.

They make up 56-59% of the total places at the comp. No team has won outside those continents.

Go figure.

In fairness to @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy, I don’t know how he manages to do this every time. He has the lads hopping like sausages on a hot tin roof and cats in a frying pan

Here Mac, you were out counting the number of cars on the N11 during Euro 2016 when talking about tv ratings so you’re one to talk.

There were no cars on the N11 during the England Croatia game

So you’re saying the England association football team are more popular than the Eire one?

Based on N11 traffic ratings, yes

It’s like the way the NFL has become a year round news dominator in the US despite only being on for 6 months a year.

We don’t even need free agency or a draft to be consume the hearts and minds. BOD playing a drum sets them off.
